What about HTMLArea3? It supports IE and Mozilla, which would give us "non-IE" people an alternative.

I've seen people talk about how to hack XOOPS to use it, but have yet to see anyone offer it as the standard editor.

Thoughts?

Chad / Richard -

Thanks!! I just popped in and tried it and it works. Now all I have to figure out is how to control the menu.

Thanks again.

How to turn of unwanted stuff in wfsection?

For someone who knows how to use wfsection, this is probably an easy one, but I haven't figured it out yet (is there a tutorial somewhere explaining how to use wfsection?).

I'm trying to use wfsection to generate static html pages. Once the site is done, it will be maintained by people without html skills, and I wanted them to be able to use the wysiwyg editor. I've seen this done on other sites.

Any page I try to make has a gray bar across the top with Author:, Published:, Read x times, Size, and a couple of icons for Printing and Referring to a Friend. In addition, there are links at the bottom of the page for "Return to Category", and "Return To Main Index". I have looked at the config menus, but have not found any way to turn these things off.

I'm playing with 2.06RC in case that makes a difference.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

John

If I"m not mistaken though, I believe the version that wjue has changes the look of squirrel mail (removes some frames or something) to make it work within xoops. From what I saw on the link provided by the original poster, what he is trying to do is maintain the look and feel of squirrel mail, just embed it in xoops.

Personally, Id like to do that with mygroupware, but haven't had the time to look into it.

Site mangled by IE... Help!

I hope this is the right place to post this. I've been using XOOPS for about a day, so if this is stupid or obvious, I apologize in advance.

I am putting a site together for a nearby community. I'm using Linux, and was checking the site with Mozilla Firebird, Konqueror, and Galeon. All was well. Then I asked my wife to bring up the site on her Windows box (W2K, IE5). Pure ugliness. Menu fonts are huge. Right block is in the middle of the page without center content. When center content is added, it moves over some, but not far enough. My only other machine is running XP/IE6. Everything looks fine there, except the right block sits in the middle of the page until there is content in the center block. Then everything moves to it's proper place. In my browsers, it's perfect.

Is this a known problem? As much as I hate Windows/IE, I don't have a choice but to make it work, or move on to something that will work with it. I really like XOOPS, and would like to use it if possible.

I am using the default theme. The only modules that I am using at this point are Agenda-X, vlweather(phpWeather), cjaycontent, and mymenu. If you'd like to look at it, the address is www.moscowmills.com.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

John
