Re: mail setup?? what's it used for?

You can set up the mail server for XOOPS so that if you want to send emails to members of your site, it will do it using that info in there.

Re: I am Sorry...

Judging from your post about your age and that you are just getting into computers, I now understand better. You aren't ready for XOOPS now. You need to learn more about installing and modifying cms's before you tackle something like Xoops. You are not ready for Xoops.

Re: I am Sorry...

Ricland, diff is short for difference. The diff folder contains what has changed in the new version of XOOPS from the last version of xoops. Sorry you aren't up on actually viewing the files or understanding what diff files are. You say you are not going to use XOOPS now. Then why keep coming back here? Do as you say and wait another year. Maybe you will have learned more about reading documentation on programs before you start complaining about them. Just do as you said you will do. Thank you.

Re: Domain name registrations and transfers

GoDaddy is great and for the price, they have amazing support and easy to use domain name admin features.

Re: Took my Medicine... I'm Ok, now

That is a modified theme, ricland. I have not seen one exactly like that in the other themes I've looked at. The colors and image backgrounds for the menus were created/modified by the webmaster of that site. You can try and contact that person to see if they will share their theme with you or can tell you how they did it.

Re: A theme like this?

I don't think he wants to bother to modify it himself. He wants this theme like it is already. Ricland, you will have to contact the webmaster of that site to see if he will let you use that theme and gives it to you.

Re: Well, What Now?

Guess it is bye bye again ricland. You obviously have a very bad attitude and aren't willing to listen to reason. The answers are here but you refuse to listen. No one can help a person that won't read or listen or even bother to look for answers for themselves. I've tried to be patient with you and ignore your outbursts but no more. I have mod rights here and can edit you if you get too far out of line. Behave or leave, your choice.

Re: Intergrating an Existing fully modded Forum into Xoops

What kind of forum program are you using? If there is no XOOPS module for it, then you could just add all your users to your XOOPS user table. But you will need to create a script to do it. You can link to your forum from XOOPS and even use a script to import data from your forum's database into a block of your XOOPS site. Like to show latest posts from your other forum onto your XOOPS site.

Re: Well, What Now?

Could be, DonXoop! But then again, there are alot of people like Mad Max in this world.

The documentation on this site Wiki Install Guide, plainly says to upload all the content inside the html folder to your site's root folder. When you are installing a new program for the first time, you should always read the documentation thoroughly before you begin. Plus search the forums for answers.
