I've Been using XOOPS for about 4 years now and have learned much here in the XOOPS community.
I would be willing to help out on the documentation team.

That's fantastic!!! Thank you for your willingness to help. I hope, more people will follow!!!

Could you please post your name in this thread, so we can keep track of all the volunteers?

Again, thank you so much for your help!!!

I'll be helping where I can. We also recently asked the community to help, and there are already first volunteers, so hopefully, this will pick up on speed!

Hi Weddell,

a lot of good suggestions/ideas. We appreciate them all!

If you have problems with any module, tell us what functionality are you looking for, and somebody will be able to guide to the appropriate module.

We are currently in process of cataloging modules, so we can later on prioritize them, and fix the most important, especially for PHP5. This is the next item on our agenda for the "new XOOPS" - to get a good, clean, and organized repository of XOOPS Modules.

I also agree on the need to update our documentation. If somebody would like to help and join our Documentation team, please let me know. The good thing is that you don't need to be a programmer to help with it

This forum lists post dates without the year, so there is no way on knowing how old a post is. I assumed a date with no year meant -current- year, but this is April and we haven't reached September yet so a post date of month #9 is illogical.

Can you provide me with the link, so I can take a look? If you go here, you can see that we have the date and the year of the message posted.

Thanks for doing it!!! I'm sure, all of us appreciate it!

Would it be possible to have a some kind of a tutorial about what has been fixed and how in the Contact module?

So people could understand better what to look for in their modules, that would have to be fixed?

Trabis, I respect your opinion, but we'll have to agree to disagree on this.

I've been to many forum boards, and the policy is pretty much everywhere the same - you start posting advertisement for competing products, and you account and your IP (if they have the capability) will be banned in no time. The support forums, as the name indicates, are for people to get/give support, or learn more about the project/product. There is no place for people who want to damage it.

Trabis, we ban people here, and block their IP, when they post a message about buying Nike shoes. That's the policy against spam, and somehow, nobody ever complained about it. Nike shoes do not compete against XOOPS, but still, posting messages promoting them, is considered as Spam, and the people are banned. End of story. Case closed.

Now, let's go to Mr. Theme. He posted repeatedly the message below:
Quote:
As a long time ex-member of this community, and even longer user of XOOPS. I would suggest that all current XOOPS users upgrade to impress cms
For us, this is worse than Nike shoes spam. So we ban him.

So he goes to www.opensourcecms.org and post this piece of art:

https://xoops.org/uploads/OpenSourceCMS_ICMS.png

And now you're coming here and telling us that his ban should be removed?

To be honest, I really don't understand where you're coming from....

I truly hope, we can end this discussion here.

Dear Ronaldus,

If you would like to take the discussion off-line, please send a PM. I'm afraid, we might operate from a different perspective and different facts, and that's why we are coming to a different conclusion. Maybe if we compare pages, we might be not that far off.

Remember one thing - there are different ways to get to a destination, and people might choose different paths. I just hope that in the end we'll be judged by the results, and not by the fact that I took a different route than you would do in my place.

I believe that we as a XOOPS are now way better than it was the case three months ago. I hope we agree that people are more excited and contributing more than before, and there are more and more developers coming back, who haven't been involved in XOOPS for a while. And believe me - this is only the beginning. DJ (phppp) and several other people are working very hard to move XOOPS forward, and I hope that all of us will join forces to support them and XOOPS.

Trabis, I told you that we'll remove the IP ban on Shine and we did. Now, how does Mr.Theme comes into it, and how does his ban have anything to do with this discussion about Shine? I am afraid, we don't have the same information, so I would like to hear from you why are you bringing Mr. Theme into it.

Trabis, I am still not sure that I understand it.
Quote:
Access to the TERMS OF USE and free choice to agree or not should be availiable to everybody, no exception.

The XOOPS "Terms of Use" are at the bottom of the main page when you come to XOOPS:
www.xoops.org
and everyone, incl. all anonymous visitors can see it. This is a standard position where most of the Websites have them.

Now, if somebody wants to register with XOOPS, s/he will be explicitly asked to agree to those Terms of Use. Again, they are free to agree to it and register, and they can disagree, and the registration will be canceled.

If this doesn't address your question, could you please help with better understanding of your question?
