Did you install Protector? This is always the first step to protect your side.

What version of XOOPS do you have installed? What modules and what versions?

I have upgraded my homepage for the latest 2.3 version.

2.3 release is only an Alpha release, and NOT for production sites, so you should use it only for testing.

We are sometimes receiving question about hiring experienced XOOPS developers for custom work for a fee.

This thread should help to list those who are interested in being hired:

Modules

Themes

Installations

We'll list only a short description, so if you are interested in being listed, please submit only a very brief description about your expertise area.

This topic will be locked so if you feel like discussing something about it publicly you you will need to open a separate topic.

If you would like to post a paid project, please add it to our "Bounties":

If you want to see yourself added to this list:
- please send me a pm with a short 2-3 liner to be posted here (longer descriptions will be rejected)
- choose your category (modules, themes, ...)
- optional: add the link to your homepage where to contact you

NOTE:
- The order of the listed persons is purely random.
- if you are looking for recommendations search the forums for past postings/queries.
- this list is compiled and maintained by Mamba. It is not any kind of official XOOPS.org document.
- we are listing here only developers who are supporting and promoting XOOPS
- No warranties of any kind

The original idea and list was from Bender.

I was hoping, it would be PHP4x, as some users reported some issues there. I had some problems on PHP5.25, but after I made sure that all the xoops_data and xoops_lib directories were set to 777, the issues went away. Could you try to reinstall it, but during the installation make sure that the directories are indeed set to 777.

Remember, this is still "alpha" release, so not everything will work as intended, and we need all the feedback from test users.

What is XOOPS Facil actually? Is there an example where this is in use. The link leads to a full install package, but i don't want to install and test right now... (lack of time i'm afraid)

You didn't have to install "XOOPS Facil" - it was just an example of module collection. They have:

- backpack
- extcal
- contact
- blocksadmin
- mydownloads
- mylinks
- newbbex
- rw_banner
- smartsection
- xcgal
- xhld0
- xt_temas
- xoopspool

I'm not saying that this is the "ultimate" list of modules that should be included in a "XOOPS Basic", but it's a good start. I hope, that in the thread about packages we'll come to some kind of a conclusion on what it should be.

Basically the stuff new webmasters wonder about after install... If there are any interest for this module i can go ahead and make the first draft (hopefully i can get Mowaffak involved too), then we would need all your help to get the module translated... What do you think?

Yes, this would be very useful!
