It seems like that site is just "stealing" themes, and putting them up for their members to download...

That's the way i do it, but it always results in the previous permissions being deleted...
i go and select those that can submit, press that submit button, go back to permissions and select those that can approve and press submit, and go back again only to see that the permissions for submitting are all blanked out again...

News 1.3 permissions problem

I have upgraded my news module to version 1.3 but the problem i'm having is that when i set permissions for viewing/adding/approving news everytime i select all the permissions for one, the permissions for the other dissapear?...
meaning, i add permissions for adding news, then all of a sudden permissions for approving and viewing are gone...

Can anyone help me with this?

Have your host make you a new database... this problem is not related to xoops... when you get the new database working, i'm sure there will be people willing to help you get XOOPS installed

I would like to warn all XOOPS 2.0.6 users to upgrade their sites! My site was hacked last night. the thing i can see is located in db%3Asystem_block_user.html -> someone added this...

I contacted "exbanious" about this hack after not being able to get it to work.
And thought i should share the extra information you need to get this to work.
This hack for one only works with News 1.3 and up.

The first step is explained here:
adding a fulltext index to keywords

if you are using phpmyadmin to administer your MySQL database,
find your XOOPS database and click on xoops_stories table.
this will show you the list of fields for that table, find the "keywords" field and on the far right
under "Action" there is an icon with the letter "T" click that and it will make
a fulltext index for the keywords field. This needs to be set
for the "WHERE MATCH (keywords) AGAINST ('$article->keywords') " argument to work.
