Did you follow the help here?

http://xoopsdocs.net/modules/docs/

You may have forgotten to create an empty DB for XOOPS to write to... you have the wrong username/password/path or somecombination of the above. You may also have a bad mainfile.php.

All hard to guess without the exact error message.

I recommend you start with the documentation though.

You can setup up Xhelp to be wide open, you can see it set up for registered users on my site below:

http://helpxoops.info

If you want it wide open you can do that... although I think you might be opening yourself up for SPAM and trash problems.

Hi Shawn

Go to http://helpxoops.info register and check things out. You'll find a list of operable modules there (newbb has numerous problems that are all but impossible to debug and when you hit one it's all over, try newbbex instead).

I'd guess your are experiencing a number of problems including:

1. php versions
2. MySQL versions
3. ftp incomplete uploads (happens to me all the time)

Just to name a few.

Yu should use one of the wrapper modules. I like content 0.5. You may see it at work on the following site:

http://helpxoops.info

All the pages listed in the More About... menu are built using Content 0.5.

Have fun!

You can either create your site in XOOPS and wrap your dreamweaver pages within XOOPS or... you can call your new XOOPS site from within dreamweaver (you should put your new XOOPS site in that case as a sub domain).

Make sure your mainfile.php is pointing to the right locations... clear your cache also.

You'll need to make changes in the newbb theme or style.css. That's the problem with fixed width themes....

What did you do on the reinstall? You might check your mainfile.php file to see what settings are in there.
