Test with score tracking

This module would allow the producer (the user creating the test) to ask questions. The question types are multiple choice – with more than one answer being correct. Please include a comment field. You may use JAVA script, Action Script or XML

This module would also allow a visitor to comment or rate a page or movie. All results would be stored in a MySQL database.

This sounds like a great project & I wish you the best of luck with it - hopefully it will fare better than the xoops/mozilla effort.
I look forward to seeing the eiProject site!

Thank you for the best wishes Pod. I would like this project and any others we create to benefit everyone in many ways.

While I am on the topic of benefits I would like to state the core reason for these projects. Each project promotes high ethical standards and creativity within an environment of fairness, honesty and good work. We do this kind of work to improve ourselves and to extend outwardly to others. This XOOPS project is seeminly perfect to test and to move this process along.

If in this process, creative and skilled individuals could make their day jobs the job they love to do - in my eyes, this would be a measure of success.

It would be great if the XOOPS team created a forum named, Special Projects." I would like to see this topic not in the lounge as I think many XOOPers would not visit here.

Hi Pod,

Yes I am back after going back to phpBB and then returning. There was a serious matter with private forums and notification flags not being turned on when a new post was created - I was unable to get assistance from the XOOPS user forum so I then ask that we switch back to a more reliable phpbb. Yoshi, a mod developer aided and was able to resolve the beginning part of turning on the notification flags on (icon color change to "new post") There are some outstanding issues with this.

I had written a complete response and accidenaily closed my browser and lost all - so I will save what I have at this time and return back, I have a meeting now.

Please leave me a PM and stay tuned for complete responses to each one of your post.

continued . . . .

About Themes

Custom themes are definitely important for branding and therefore developement could not exclude themes. So yes, function and look and feel are both essential in creating solutions. However the success of this project so that I can get the "Go ahead" would be how the overall fulfillment from the contractors are meeting the needs of the clients. This interprets that themes would be the second task after the development of modules have been determined as "successful."

So what I encourage you to do is to get your theme ideas mapped out and join the private discussion so that you may better see how we are moving on and to get some ideas on what would be needed. I would guess that late November themes will be needed. Most, if not all themes would be customized. The client would own the theme. For the client's sake, there must be a distinction between templates and themes.

This project centers around module developers providing solutions within the distant learning arena. The clients are made up of non-programmers, instructors, content providers and online learning institutions.

Developers must demonstrate the ability to provide:

A - Quality and timely support
B - Good communication skills
C - Clear and understandable contracts
D - Created contracts in modules with a completion schedule
E - May provide offsite development
F - The contractor must have a way to receive payment

All transactions will be monitored by eiproject so that both contractor and client are protected and the project runs smoothly with all spectation realized.

Objectives:

eiProject is producing an online tradeshow for the distant learning community and would like to engage professional XOOPS developers to provide certain needs.

The reasons of extending outward to the XOOPS community is based upon the following:

1- eiProject's acknowledgement of XOOP'S potential as a CMS, collaboration application as upon examination of version 2.2

2 - That XOOPS is already a viable means to easily embed media objects

3 - A means of stimulating and supporting creative and innovative development within XOOPS and outside assets - bridging the development of other technologies to the XOOPS framework.

4 - Integration with other applications like a java chat app or ready-made XOOPS plugins

The entire project is managed by Education and Information Project - located in Los Angeles, California USA.The eiProject team is well funded and managed organization.

This is an experiment in matching the needs of the attendee with a conscientious well organized module developer.

Not more than 5 module developer will be chosen for this project. eiProject team will provide an update for the XOOPS community.

eiProject will be using XOOPS and existing modules as its CMS, collaboration and project management tool for collaboration of this project. This project is pending approval based upon the evaluation of each candidate as contractors.

If there is anything in this post that is not in accordance with the policies of XOOPS please advise.

Best regards,

Rick

Hello Julian,

Really thank you for the tutorial - I really appreciate this help. I now understand how I should use the groups with the news module.

I had wanted to bring the Mozilla foundation with XOOPS in a theme called Mozilla Meets Xoops, but because we could not get the needed timely help to questions on this forum, our company had to discontiue the project. I am positive if there were individuals like yourself helping - the project would have continued. The objective of the project was to "Spread the Word" about Mozilla and XOOPS within an online expo for open source products and services.

I see the donation area of XOOPS - so this was our way of giving back - but again there was not the assistance we needed to make the project work. Our company is a non profit and must really watch how our resources are placed.

All of this is to say - the quality of your assistance and response time has raised the quality and function of this forum a few notches.

Thanks again,

Rick

Ho Julian,

Thank you for making this understandable on permissions. I better understand this principal of customizing Modules for specific groups. However, I am not the originator of this thread and lets hope you've answered the question.

I would like to go further and pose another question on this topic. If I wanted to have several news broadcast - each for a different group (group specific) - how would you do this? Install several "News" modules?
