No harm in that, but there is (was) already a demo site setup. I can't remember the address, but I think the user Bluenova runs it. Save you the bother.

Having always relied on the intelligence of theme designers, I'm pretty clueless when it comes to creating themes and when I want to do something myself, I kinda struggle.

I stumbled across this website -http://www.hicksdesign.co.uk/, and I was really impressed with how it looked, and wondered how it was done, and whether it would be easy enough to create an XOOPS theme similar to it. It's key points, in my mind, are it's simplicity, easy on the eye, easy to navigate.

If you're interested, the site is owned by guy who created the Mozilla Firefox logo!!!

Having read your thread I remembered that. So, all excited, I went and changed the values in the english language file to match what I'd changed in the CBB module. But it is still shoiwng the old date.

I can't remember now whether I updated the system module afterwards though (it was about a week ago late at night and I just thought 'sod it' - it hasn't worked). I might have to check that.

Ideas in the meantime appreciated. Has anyone else (UK folk especially) upgraded to the latest CBB version and XOOPS versions and experienced the same thing?

It suddenly dawned on me earlier that it might be because I'd got the 'Modify Templates' option in System Preferences set to No (as my site was a live one), so I changed it to yes. But...alas....still no joy! It sill shows the wrong style of date.

So all I can think of is that it's getting the value from somewhere else now? A different file somewhere?

Thanks a lot Jenclass. The guide is terrific.

I gave up in the end and deleted the xoopseditors - just stuck with the DHTMl and Plain Text. A shame, but hey ho.

Every time I update CBB from one version to another, I have this same problem! Except this time, I can't resolve it.

I want to use the UK date and time convention as per the PHP values specifiedhttp://uk.php.net/date, i.e. :

01/01/06 (that being the 1st day of January 2006) instead of 01/01/06 (that being the American version of January 1st 2006)

In the past, I've gone to newbb/language/english/main.php and changes the entry on lines 467-468 from :

define("_MD_MONTHDAY", "n/j G:i:s");

define("_MD_YEARMONTHDAY", "Y/n/j G:i");

to

define("_MD_MONTHDAY", "d/m G:i:s");

define("_MD_YEARMONTHDAY", "d/m/y G:i");

In the past, that has always worked, but not this time. For some reason, it is not working. I've tried deleting conetent of templates_c, updating the module, updating system module, etc. Nothing is making it budge.

Anyone know why? (It would be great for it to be built in as an admin choice - this has been an issue since CBB 1 and I'm sure I suggested it at dev.xoops)

Thanks a lot

Ted

Fixed it. It was because the last time I used the forums I had one of the faulty editors selected (faulty in my case, I'm not saying that they are faulty!) and it was remembering that as the selection after I'd deleted them via FTP and thus giving me a blank page. No idea why the debug mode wasn't telling me anything though.

So after re-uploading the xoopseditors folder, I then deleted, one at a time, the editors that did not work leaving me with the DHTML Xcode and Plain text. That will do!

Cheers

Xoops 2.0.16, CBB 3.07

Can anyone tell me why on Earth the debug mode does not give me any results when receving a blank page? I have tried with both 'inline' and 'popup', and they work while I'm in the Admin area, but not when I',m on the main part of the site.

For some bloody bizarre reason, my CBB 3.07 upgrade (which went fine last night) is now giving me a blank page whenever I try to reply or create a new thread. And the sodding debug mode is not telling me why!!!

(This happened after I removed the 'xoopsedtitor' folder from 'class' because the Koivi Editor and Extended DHTML editors were not working but despite re-copying the class folder and re-updating the system and CBB modules, problem is persiting!!)

AAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhh!!!
