As has been said before, though perhaps not in these words, there may be another reason why you have blank pages and you should try and fix that issue before you move on to trying to update (IMHO). What path did you take to upgrade? Did you run any upgrade scripts when you upgraded?

Did you go from 2.0.13.2 to 2.0.15? If you did the latter, you should understand that it is probably not good to bypass releases when upgrading. It's best to upgrade release by release eg. 2.0.13 to 2.0.14 to 2.0.15. Also, make sure to run any attendant upgrade scripts. There's a script (in the upgrade folder) in 2.0.14 that you must run to upgrade from 2.0.13 to 2.0.14. Likewise with 2.0.15. If these upgrade scripts aren't run, then significant changes that occur in the database will not be made. And, in recent releases, significant changes were made. If those changes aren't made, it heightens the possibility that you're site won't run as is.

Also, if you upgrade without finding out what's wrong you exponentially increase the risk that you will lose data. If the database changes and you try to reinject the old database data, you'll likely cause yourself greater amounts of misery. The changes may not be that great. On the other hand, they may.

But, that's just my two cents, pesos, etc.

Did you install Frameworks into your root XOOPS directory? It must be installed there not in your module directory...

Here's a link , among many such links (search "phpmyadmin tutorials"), to a phpmyadmin tutorial: http://www.reg.ca/faq/PhpMyAdminTutorial.html. Many hosting providers include it in their control panels (or something like it - though phpmyadmin seems the most commonplace). If you don't have it via you're hosting provider, it would be good to try and set it up yourself on your site. It's a good tool to have - actually, IMO, essential. But, it's too difficult in this space to give a tutorial on it's use in this circumstance beyond what I've said.

You will also need an ftp client to upload/download your files (which I assume you're already using). This part I'm guessing you already know.

Given your current errors, though, I think that when you re-uploaded your core files, perhaps something got misdirected or you changed versions inadevertently. You could try re-uploading. That might at least get you out of the blank page difficulties.

To start with, I take no responsibilty for any outcome in this. Just my two cents...

Given your initial post if I wanted to reinstall, I would (keeping the same version, of course - change versions and you're %$&#@%):

1) Make a backup of your database (using phpmyadmin you should be able to include drop statements) and your files;
2) Without deleting the mainfile.php, get rid of all your other old xoops core files;
3) Reload the core files to the version you were using without overwriting your mainfile.php;
4) Go into phpmyadmin (which hopefully you use as your database manager) and delete all the data and tables;
5) Run your previously saved database backup (which should be an sql query) via the phpmyadmin sql dialog box;
6) You should be finished.

I have done this many, many times for various reasons. You're facility with phpmyadmin is a key determinate in how well this works for you. Sorry, but due to other time commitments, I can't offer further help.

Whether you have to change it in the database, I'm not positive (did you check admin|preferences|general?). But, I strongly suspect that you will have to go into mainfile.php in your XOOPS root and edit data, including url, the server address, etc. Also, once that's done, I suspect you will also have to clear out your cache directory (except for the index file) and templates_c (except for the index file). Seeing as no one has posted before this, I thought that this would at least get you started.

Oh, and one more thing, just in case you didn't know - you'll need to make mainfile.php writeable briefly while you make whatever changes you make, then change perms back to 444.

HTH

P.S. Back up your mainfile.php before you make any changes to it.

I uploaded the newest versions of both themes. Skidoo2 seems flawless so far as I can tell. Good comments from those who visit my site as well. As far as the fixed theme goes, I tried the suggestion you made and in IE still have problems even setting the content to 350, 400, and 450. No difference noted in the issue ot the downward displacement of the left column. Additionally, in the fixed them, on mine, when the font button is clicked at the larger sizes, the light blue header doesn't coninue to fill in the dark blue background on the right hand side i.e. the whole content area widens but the light blue header at the top does not fill in accordingly.

Thanks for all your work in this.

Using the fixed theme, when I use search from a block in the left column, on IE the actual search results show perfectly, but they shift both left and right columns down. a right column block actually shows up in the center. I'm sure it's something that is related to the search block design. Again, this occurs in IE. You can see it here.

Javelin:

No, it isn't a multimenu block. It's created by the custom blocks interface in the admin section.

tecnigrafa:

I'll try and play with it later today to see how it all works making the suggested changes.

Thanks!

[EDIT]

I made the sections categories menu "not visible" and it shows fine now except in the fixed theme when it's set at the large setting. It shows fine in each of the browsers and indeed, each of the themes noted here - in a cursory look - appeared fine. SO, I think we're going in a good direction.

It's exciting to see the load times improve as well.

I think it would be good, when we get a better handle on this, to post a tutorial or so on how to adapt the module blocks, etc so that we can adapt our sites for these themes.

I tested the above changes and am continuing to have issues. I also added the full width theme and have the let column continue to drop down with any of the font adjust buttons chosen. Using IE 6.0. You can see on my site noted above.

I'll be happy to continue to try them out as improvements are made.
