Thanks,
That worked. At some point I will need to start using news though. As I learn more about PHP maybe i'll be able to figure it out if you don't have enough time.

Thanks,

The version I have came from this link:

http://www.warpigw2.com/modules/wfdownloads/singlefile.php?lid=2&com_id=45&com_rootid=43&cid=1&

I don't know the specifics to your question.

Also I am using XOOPS 2.2

The resulting RSS files has every article in my AMS doubled. In the duplicate the link is mysite.com/modules/NEWS?storyid=10.

Why is it putting an extra copy as if it is coming from my news module when I have no entries in my news?

Blog + Extra Datafields

I essentially need a blogging system that allows registered users to make entries, allows others to respond, like many blog modules out there. But I also need for each entry to have, in addition to the text of the blog, other fileds that I define.

For example, lets say the users would use the system to track workouts or exercises. They could make free form notes in the
text section, but I could define other fields like weight, intensity, etc that would be associated with each entry.

The module would need the ability to let the admin(me) define the number of extra fields, type, and name of course.

Later I could then use the data associated in the extra fields to plot graphs and tables of progress, etc. Although I understand I might need to write this part myself.

Anyone have something like this?

Thanks.

Don't know if this will help, but I had the problem too, turned out my directories and files didn't have sufficient access rights given to them, fixed that and redirect worked.

I installed XOOPS on the root of my domain and all works fine. But I noticed the url address gets redirected to the starting page module, example domain.com/modules/mymodule ....Anyway to avoid this and just have it stay domain.com upon load?

Is there any plan to give more placement control in the future? Why give horizontal control but no vertical control? Just curious.

Question about block placement

Hello everyone,

I made the choice to go with XOOPS as my CMS after initially starting my site for a month with no CMS whatsoever. After my host got nuked and my site was down for 2 days(I shed tears over the lost traffic) I decided to get a virtual dedicated server(after all my site is approaching 100k alexa) and rethink my website. I evaluated PHPnuke, Mambo, et al, I came to the conclusion that XOOPS was more keeping with my modular OOP mindset, and so far I am happy.

I will have many questions over the next week, but now I just want to know how to vertical place blocks. I am able to say left, right, center, but vertically I am lost. I assumed weight would be the factor, but if I have only onle block on a given page, and above it is a module, but I want the block BELOW the module how to do this?

Sure I could edit the theme.php itself, but this seems silly.

Specificially I have created a Google adsense block, and I want it to be near the bottom of the page, below my forum module, or any other module that currently happens to be displayed.

Thanks beaucoup!

Adrian
