Hi,

i am using the article module (1 final) and I notice that it adds many options for the submenu (when using the default XOOPS menu). for example, 'registered users' see: submit, block, archive, list, tag list, etc, and I want it to have just the main menu (article) and submit as the submenu, is there any way of doing this? I can modify the templates if that helps, but I'd need a litle guidance as to where to look...

I would also like to know this..can the old xoopsfaq module be used? I tired smartfaq, whcih I guess its a great module but its too much for what i need (the advantage of the old one IMO is that the questions are on top and then all the answers in the same page). anyone knows another module, which is simple?

blueteen,

could your solution work if there is no module for the start page?

also, I cant believe there isnt a built in solution for something like this, but I started a similar trhead long time ago and came to the same conclusion...

I had the same problem and I (kind of) fixed it by doing a test with javascript to check what the url was and write something if it was the home (i.e. if the url was www.mydomain.com/index.php display this). I cant find the code though, but if you know javascript or programming maybe this helps (I dont...I managed to do it once but it took a lot of time and there's got to be a better solution)

hi,

i dont know if this has been mentioned before (I have read a few post here but not all) but it would be cool if there was a chance to create a template that can have different info (from a module, say categories in news for example) based on a module criteria. for example I would make a template where some info changes depending on the location the user entered (as a field in profile in 2.2). hope this makes sense, its just an idea.

There is a hack called simplified ulrs that works pretty well IMO. Its not perfect and some people report problems, but it does get rid of the ? (making a simple url ending in htm).

I guess one needs to know how to call them (similar to the ones that you removed). I would also be interested in this info...
