^bump^

Is it normal for users who have admin permissions on polls to also have admin permissions on forum posts without the webmaster giving it to them??

If it is normal how do I go about giving admin permissions to polls but not to forum posts??

Hi, I have a 2.0.6 site and I want to give a group admin rights to create polls, when I do this they also get admin rights to the forum eg, edit and delete buttons on all posts. Is this the way it should be or do I have something wrong??

So if you have administration access for news and forum, it will be there when browsing the news or forum section of your site but not the other ones.

Not for me...

I have a test member that I use to see what the members see in diferent groups. This test member has admin rights in News, when I go to the news module, the edit and delete buttons are there yes, but there is still no admin menu link in the user menu.

*edit* So should I over write the new user.php with the old one?? Does this fix the problem?? */edit*

Hi all, I had a special group for special friends so they had admin rights in certain modules.

Since I did the upgrade they no longer have their admin access to the modules I had previously stipulated.

I have tried creating a new group and moving them to it and granting admin access to the modules they need. I removed them from the original group but this did not work :(

I have spent hours stumbling around trying to work out what may have happened even creating new test users and test groups granting admin access to modules. Yet when I login as the test member there is still no "Admin Menu" link in the User Menu.

Does anyone know anything about this?? You help would be a good thing.

Cheers,
Booga.

*EDIT* I have also since installed WF-Downloads and am not 100% sure which upgrade is the culprit. *EDIT*

Hi, look for
Quote:
// Use persistent connection? (Yes=1 No=0)
// Default is 'Yes'. Choose 'Yes' if you are unsure.
define('XOOPS_DB_PCONNECT', 1);
in your mainfile.php file. If you have a "1" in the ('XOOPS_DB_PCONNECT', 1) then try changing it to a "0". Then update system module.

If you already have a "0" then i'm not sure how you can fix it otherwise.

Let me know how you go.

Booga.

I would like something like this as well.

What would really be nice is a "Theme Maker" module.....
