Hi there

I am running a Danish site on the XOOPS system, and i am going to enable the Forum within the next few weeks.

But an external diving company has asked for the possibility to mirror our forum to their site, without having the rest of the XOOPS layout.

In other words on my site i have a XOOPS setup with theme and everything, they want to have just what the forum outputs inserted into their site.

Is that possible, and if so how ?

Or maybe just make a special theme used when coming from their URL, which sort of is 'empty' and then they can show it within a frame.

Best regards
Søren Reinke

Hi there

Is there some functionality in WfSection to generate a RSS feed to other sites ?

Or do i have to make it myself ?

Best regards

Hi there

I had sort of the same problem on a new site i am working on.

I solved it by adding a new block for each category.

So i ended up with 5 new blocks, due to i have 5 sections.

There might be a better way to solve this problem, but my solution works :)

But i really feel there should be some standar system inside WFSection to solve this problem.

WFSection bug in wfsarticle.php file

Hi there

In WFSection i think there is a bug, or some missing code.

In the getArticle method in wfsarticle.php something is weird:

function getArticle($articleid){
$sql = "SELECT * FROM ".$this->table." WHERE articleid=".$articleid." ";
$array = $this->db->fetchArray($this->db->query($sql));

if (count($array) == 0) {
return false;
}
$this->makeArticle($array);
}

If the count($array) is 0 false is returned, but the calling method does not use the returned value, and if the count is not 0 nothing is returned.
I guess the method should return false if the article was not found and true if it was found, so you could display an error message if people are trying to enter the articleid by hand.

count($array) returns false if nothing is returned from database, so it is never equal to 0.

I used this getArticle to detect wether an article is in the base or not:

function getArticle($articleid){
$sql = "SELECT * FROM ".$this->table." WHERE articleid=".$articleid." ";
$array = $this->db->fetchArray($this->db->query($sql));

if (is_array($array) == false) {
return false;
}
$this->makeArticle($array);
return true;
}

Maybe if (is_array($array) == false) is not the best way to detect if anything was returned from the database, but it looks like it is working, if anyone has a better suggestion please tell me :)

Catzwolf: Shouldn't there be some functionality to detect wether an article with articlid does exists in the system ?

p.s. Thanks for a usefull module :)

I have been working on this error all night.

As far as i can figure out it is when the innerHTML is being set that the javascript interpreter simply changes all links.

I have fixed the problem by simple removing all entries of:
http://www.mydomaind.com/modules/wfsection/admin/
from the text returned from the SPAW editor when wfsection saves it into the database.
It works, but i really feel it is a ugly hack to fix it.

Hopefully someone could show a better solution.

But at least the webdesigner is happy now :)

Another strange behavious from Spaw

I use SPAW together with WFsection, and there is strange behaviour.

My webdesigner wants to use GoLive to make the design, so when he is done he copies the HTML (the inside of the body tags) to the SPAW editor when in HTML view mode.

If we save everything is fine.

But if i just once enter the design mode, all the links to images, files and other stuff has turned from relative to absolute. And the suddently everything is broken :(

How to prevent this ?

a link goes from:

article/picture/pic1.jpg

to something like:

http://www.mydomain.com/admin/article/picture/pic1.jpg

which is not working, i could help this by adding a symbolic link, but i would rather not throw a symbolic link everytime something is not working.

That sounds like a good point

I did clone my very changed template, and no i use the cloned version.

I have not tried to update the module since with a new block added, but when i need to i will report back.

Thanks for your help :)

Go to the 'users' table in your database, find your admin user, and edit rank=7 and level=5, that should do it :)
