News 1.3 : problems after upgrade

Hi there,

I have a problem after I upgraded from News 1.1 to 1.3
I wanted to backup the 1.1 version and just renamed the folder from news to news_bu, and then I copied the 1.3 folder to my server as news, and ran the upgrade script...

I don't know if what I did is OK or if I had to overwrite all the existing files.

Now I have some problems:

News Display Layout:
If I choose "By Topic" all news is showed correctly within it's topic
but with Php debug on:

When I choose "Classic" it doesn't show any news, only the page numbers are shown, and its doesn't give any php debug notices

And the latest news block won't show the teaser, only the title...
I've used the Spotlight module for some time now, and I'm having the same problem there, no teaser, only title. Although I'm running a second site on the same server, where the teaser works perfect in the Spotlight module.

Who knows what's wrong? I'm a php noob so keep those answers in simple human language plz

You have to insert it in themes/[yourtheme]/style.css
just write a new line in there

Can somebody help me with this??:

I want tobuild a theme that has the header on the left and the content on the right, but i don't want the left to scroll down with the content on the right...

How do I do this??

As on this site? Simple, go to the system admin > Blocks > here you can choose if a block should be on the left or right side or in the center collum (wich again is devided in left - center - right)

I hope this is what u mean

Thanks a lot!!! that would be great, it's the best guestbook that i found for xoops, so I really want it to work

Thx for the link but still no change, I deleted it again, dit a clean Guestbook install, copied the database from Xtremguestbook... I deleted Xtremgb, because i thought it maybe made a conflickt with XF but no luck there...
I couldn't post any new entries in both the guestbooks...

maybe you can find something, here my guestbook:http://www.pressurelab.com/content/modules/xfguestbook/

Yeah this looks very promising!!! do you need some graphics? I can maybe help you out with it

But I'm leaving for holiday in a few hours, so you'll have to wait for a week for the graphics

I so love the XOOPS community, so much energy!!
