I do not use Protector myself as I am pretty comfortable with my server's security. I know of others that use it however with PHP5.

I would say your problem is just with that particular module. I run PHP5 and have never encountered any problems because of it. If you go with Drupal or Joomla, you are going to wind up losing in the long run in my opinion as both are severly lacking in several areas XOOPS is not. Find another module like magazine, or have someone create one would be my advice.

Well, that won't exactly work because of the difference in domain names. The easiest way is to back up your MySql files on the old server. Then do a fresh install of XOOPS with all your models, theme customizationa, and so forth. Once that is done, import the old MySQL database into the new one. You may have to delete tables in the new database to do this.

Goto Admin:Blocks:List All Blocks

Then on the menu block click "All Frontside Pages"

I think it may be only available through 2.2X downloads, I am not sure. If you send me a PM with your email I can send it to you. I am not sure how it will work with previous versions.

Use the module "Extended Profiles. It allows you to add fields, and even make them required.

This is not so much a module request but a feature for a module. I would like to see am "Email topic to a friend" feature added to CBB/NewBB.

Easier than that, there is a module that allows you to edit templates. You can download it at:

You might try this Germanic site:

http://downloads.myxoops.de/modules/wfdownloads/singlefile.php?cid=44&lid=217

and

http://downloads.myxoops.de/modules/wfdownloads/singlefile.php?cid=44&lid=482

That is odd they are coming up 0 KB. I wonder if every download on the net of these two are that way?

I googled and came up with the following.

You can download both Buddy Friends and Direct Friends from:

http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=41586&package_id=105497
