What did you use to access and set up your sql tables? Most of the time you would use phpMyAdmin which is usually what hosting sites have set up.

newbb2 expand userbar mod help

I am using newbb2 on my site like on this site, it has the drop down USERBAR menu. When I turn it on in my site, it gives the EXPANDED USERBAR clickable options such as Profile, MSN, YIM and such.

How would I edit that file so the MSN and YIM would not display even if I turn on the display USERBAR? It only shows all or none if the user profile has info in those fields or it and I can't figure out where or what file to edit to modify it?

Newbb2.0 Userbar choices control

I am using newbb2.0 and want to enable the USERBAR option, but do not want to have all the user choices available.

For example I do not want someone to be able to click on a users YIM or MSN option directly from the forum section.

How or Where do I edit to control the individual items that would appear in the USERBAR drop down choices in the forums when its activated?

Have you first looked through the Themes Library, you can find many themes that should meet your needs, on alot of them you can even edit the css file to change it more to your taste even if you don't have lots of theme design experience.

After you create your FORUMS Categories, you then create the individual FORUMS that go under the categorie.

Within each forum you create, you need to be sure you CHECK the correct permission under the heading called

Topic permissions for this Forum

Make sure you have done that

Also make sure in the Administrative area of the FORUMS BLOCKS you have checked the correct permissions too

Especially the one called Forums Module Access rights

I have a godaddy account but haven't myself even tried out the way it accesses it's servers or its ftp ability or even how to set up sql files, But.. since its being asked I will set me up one and get a look at it so if you find any problems, hopefully I can point you in the right direction.

I have tried other CMS products, paid and free and found this product to be a very simple straight forward install. The readme file is pretty simple and the installation process checks stuff out for you.

MOST IMPORTANT:

Setting up your sql file and being able to change the CHMOD ( File Access Permission Rights ) Look for these requirements and set them prior to an install Saves lots of headaces.

Now as long as you have a way to upload files to your server, and change file access permission rights and understand that...THE REST IS A BREEZE

Modules install straight froward...As long as you can UPLOAD them to the correct directory.

Note: I say that because as I reacall GoDaddy doesn't necessarily give you a great control panel to the server.

System Admin -> Mail Users (Possible Bug) Xoops 2.0.13

Okay, I believe I have noticed a bug in the Mail Users section of the core of xoops.

I have over 967 members. I selected the SEND TO Private Message box.

When I clicked to send the members a PM message, part of the normal program is it stops at each 100 sent and requires you to click a NEXT button.

HERE IS THE POTENTIAL PROBLEM

I noticed that the way it sends changed from Private Message in the list of the user names sent to just Mail.
I also believe this happened when I tried to use the EMAIL option too.
It appears to somehow reset or loose the checked option when you go to the next group of users.

I hope that makes since and can be checked or tested.

Why can't we upload files with .JPG or .GIF in Image Manager

Many times when trying to upload a picture file, the problem is that it needs to be .jpg or .gif in small letters, why is it that .JPG or .GIF aren't allowed.

And, if it makes no difference how do I go about allowing it.

This is in regards to the core Image manager

newbb user in post drop down box changes

I want to allow the USERBAR but want to be able to only display a few of the items in it. If I select it in the Module config it will display Profile, PM, ICQ, MSN, etc...

How are where is the correct file to modify if I want to not show ICQ, MSN but want to show Profile and PM.

I am using NEWBB 2.0 with the mod to allow inline pictures
