Hello,

I am runing XOOPS 2.0.9.2 with news 1.3 upgrade from 1.1

For some reason I get a the message "Error while uploading a file" whenever I try to attach a file to a story using the browse/upload file option.

A previous post about this subject pointed out that some tables were not created properly in the database, stories-files if i remember correctly, but this does not seem to be the case here.

Are there any permissions I should verify or any other special settings/hacks?

In the module general prefernces I selected that both approvers and submitters can upload.

best regards, and thanks for a great module

Hello,

I am trying to use the Digest feature of this module but with no luck.

Setting a topic does not seem to register in the Digest Manager, and also in digest.php

Also, I would like to know which members will get the digest sent to?

If I have a forum only a 1 group of users can access for example, will the digest only be sent to them?

regards

Hi Again,

can anyone look into this? I'd like to find the source of this problem and keep using the module. But the edit profile feature is a must and having a blank edituser.php page is not good.

thanks

Thanks

btw, about the news1.3 deal - It works fine you just have to keep dhtml selected in the preferences

Hey there,

i am no expert in XOOPS security and such, but it seems that your account got hacked using some AwStats exploit that affects, AwStats ver 6.2 and below

AwStats is a cgi-bin script that comes built-in with cpanel.

AWStats is a free powerful and feature tool that generates advanced web, streaming, ftp or mail server statistics, graphically

I am looking into disabling this script but since it is built-in cpanel, this might be tricky.

here is the advisory

Could myEDITO replace users profile pages?

for example, when someone clicks on a user idea, it will take him to that myEDITO user page if that user has one made?

great module you are working on here and I am planning on doing some serious testing for you to help it develop to perfection

cheers

Add comments to members profile pages?

H
i,

I would like to allow people to add comments to other members profile page.

This is an idea well established in community sites such as friendster, myspace and more.

The main idea is for people to build a good feedback about themselves and more.

A ranking feature might be fun to through in there as well.

what would be the best way to go about this? I know XOOPS is very comment oriented.

Thanks!

Thank you Robert!!!

Yes you understood me correctly, and this works just fine.

This is a great lesson I learned about the way php variables are declared and passed on to functions!

take care,

1. Do they both allow users to ahve their own blogs that are basically hosted or contained on your own site? It looks like yes but I want to make sure.

Yeap, all the information is stored on the hosting site in ithe database.

2. Is one of them more search engine friendly or are they both dynimcally or database driven?

The XOOPS search works like wonders with weblog, not sure about popnup, but I assume it works just fine because it searchs the database.

3. IS there a way that users can promote their blogs?

There are blocks you can move around the site promoting for latest and recent entries and more.

4. IS there an RSS feed set up so they can rss feed to Yahoo or other feed sites?

Weblog has an automatik rss feed generator that can be turned on or off.

5. Is the user still able to use a service like Ping-O-Matic?

not sure...
