as far as I'm concerned OS X has different issues with the theme I'm still looking into but is nothing as big as the search issue seems to be

I'm not quite sure i understood but...
Splash screen of site must be in site's root in x's case as index.html, if you want a splash screen for each of the 3modules then it will be in module's directory as index.html. eg(modules/news/index.html) and so on

I hope modules will alienate 2.0.x because its holding developers back to give another example look at IE6 holding back the browsing experience..nice too see Google and other companies not supporting it anymore starting this spring :).
Same here, the more a dev is worried with backward compatibility with outdated versions, the less productive they are.
Modules don't really talk to each other as much as we'd like and the only one that did a pseudo-good job at this was the original wf-downloads where a download item process also gave possibility to create a news article and create a topic in forums, from that download item.

I'm with surpass for over a year, actually there's not much of a demo they could've showed you as they don't have crappy admins like 1&1 for instance which take forever to load...its just the cpanel available themes plus one personalized by them icon wise not overall UI wise so no surprises.. at least on my VPS

No, it will never replace a gallery module, its intended purpose is to facilitate use of images where not possible and not to replace modules. Look at the private messages and profiles to understand better, they were taken out of the core to make room for core improvements

I sort of feel pity for whoever registered there, where's the balance price <=>quality i have no idea.
As per the original post in this thread.. if i wouldn't know how to make themes and i needed one, that wouldn't have been my choice not even for free (none of theirs for that matter)

Core of 2.5 alpha can do that ..except for duplicating the theme as far as i remember and you make a good case of a "feature request"
And since we're talking duplicating files, if that...nah.. when that will be achieved then it will be expanded to language files where you can duplicate from admin end a lang directory and edit the new created one directly on site
I could virtually translate my site/edit my theme from my phone while on a train or something
