Jen, that code is a hack. It could be useful, if it's submitted to the sourceforge.net site as a patch it will be considered for inclusion in the core... but it doesn't belong in the XOOPS Basic Manual.

My suggestion would be to have a section of useful hacks in the wiki at dev.xoops.org, if the XOOPS Core Hacks section of the forums isn't enough...

Check the language file: /language/[language name]/global.php

Look for '_CHARSET' -> this should be UTF-8 for your pages to display in UTF-8.

I don't get it...

... you modified the theme and templates, why not install a new XOOPS 2.0.13.2 test site and use your new theme and templates?

You shouldn't need to change much at all, if anything, so I don't understand your question...

The language tool by kiang should be able to do that.

Do you have :
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" media="screen" href="<{$xoops_url}>/xoops.css" />

in your theme? That should always include the main xoops.css file...

The installer is not fully compatible with PHP 5. This post gives the fix.

Upload a new mainfile.php file before starting the install again.

This has been fixed in SVN, and will be included in the next XOOPS release.

This is not good... I was using what I thought was the latest version from CVS for the docs site, but I see now that it's the older version you were talking about Monty.

Is there another way for me to get the latest version? Can someone from the team maybe contact me about this please? Or let me know who I should contact...

Thanks,
Rowd
