I had this problem once before and its NOT a xcgallery problem. Its a permission problem.

You need to make sure that both albums and userpics are chmod to 777 same as in the aministration>xcgallery>preferences section it needs to be written 0777.

You may find that your ftp client will not let you change these permissions as it did to me it kept going back to 755, so you will need to change the permissions via your cpanel that your hosting provider gave you. If all else fails I would start asking your hosting provider why you cannot set the right permissions.

The album and userpics NEED to be writable so the script can add picture and create directories in there if its not writable then it cannot do this and you will end up with errors like yours.

hope this helps

Pretty easy to do this mate just simply go to

sysytem admin>blocks

locate your partners block and click on edit

In there it will give you all the options of how many partners you wish to display if you want both picture and text displayed or just the picture or just the text or if you want them to fade or whatever.

hope that helps

Now i know there is a lot of forum posts about blank pages but this one is quite different and strange.

I get a blank page but nobody else does! Meaning that the everybody I have asked to see if my site is up they can see it but I can't, what could be causing this?

I was batch adding pictures through xcgallerys admin side then i clicked refresh as it asked me to if not all images appeared well thats when i got the blank page but nobody else gets the blank page they can access the page

I am running XOOPS 2.0.92

server:apache linux
PHP VERSION: php 4
maching type: i686

I am sure its protecter whats the bypass?? Especially if you have forgotten your bypass password.

Hey Stitch sorry to hear whats happened I have XOOPS Protector installed and it pretty much will make it harder but will not distract a determined hacker.

My only suggestion is if you have cpanel you can password protect your site like that for a while and only give the password and login details to your current trusted members for the time being say a month hopefully the hacker will get bored and move on.

You have to also change there rank in there profile to do that you need to go to system admin>edit user then find the user you have placed in that group and click modify then go to there rank and change it to represent them in that new group make sure you click submit after these changes.

Well I tend to have regular blonde moments as long as you set the correct permissions you will be ok. 777 to the albums and userpics folder in your server and also in the xcgal/prefernces section of your admin menu.

The only other issue I had is that it has a problem working on "safe mode on" there is a fix for this that may help which is by uncommentin 1 line in this file

xcgal/include/init.inc.php

the original code is

Quote:
//define('SILLY_SAFE_MODE',1);

simply uncomment that line so it should look like this after the change

Quote:
define('SILLY_SAFE_MODE',1);

It seems whilst on safe mode on you are unable to send ecards. Also the GD library is unable to support gif files it only supports jpg and png so you will need to have imagemagik supported on your server you will need to get the url to imagemagik off your hosting provider. It is hoped that the next version of GD Library will have gif support.

I still recommend xcgallery as it is stable with just issues with working completly on safe mode on sites but that fix should help out with that problem.
hope that helps
