notifications.php not working

Hi there

My notifications.php has stopped working not sure when it happened or why.

The page notifications.php won't load. Debug gives this:


Fatal error: Call to a member function getVar() on a non-object in /home6/howtwouk/public_html/notifications.php on line 96

Line 96 of notifications.php is this:

$modules[$modid] = array ('id'=>$modid, 'name'=>$module->getVar('name'), 'categories'=>array());

Don't know how to fix this (sorry!), can anyone help me?

Can anyone help me on this?

Right now the scraps feature on the yogurt module appears to be a commenting feature only. I can write a comment on someone's page but that's it. If they reply to me, the answer can be seen on my page but the original question is only on their page.

Can the yogurt module's scraps wall be made to function like similar features in other social networks. I mean can it, for each user, display any messages written by the user or their friends? So if I add a scrap and I have 10 friends, my message will be appear on my scrap wall as well as each of my 10 friends' scrap walls.

Can this be done? Is it something that might be enabled in a future release?

It is this which makes a community grow, without it there is no reason to become friends with someone and no incentive to keep logging in to see what's happening.

I'd love to keep using yogurt but if its not possible to make Scraps work like the Facebook Wall, I'll have to look elsewhere.

Hi there, not sure if I am missing something here but the XOOPS scraps feature seems only to work as public message display. Is it possible to make it like a wall in other social networks where any messages posted by you or any of your friends are displayed on your wall.

I really like yogurt but the wall is really a key feature of any social network, its what encourages people to make friends and keep visiting to see what other are doing.

But as things stand now (unless I'm missing something) the scraps wall doesn't do this.

Hi, I've added this code to my newbb forum pages (viewtopic.php)

$xoops_pagedesc = $viewtopic_forum->getVar('forum_name') . ', ' . ". $forumtopic->getVar('topic_title') . "";


It means that my metatag page description now shows as the forum name followed by the title of the post.

Its not a bad solution i think but it means my meta description is very similar to the page title. I think a better solution would be to have the pagedesc assigned as the text of the first post of each topic (perhaps with a character limit of 255).

But try as I might I can't make this assign. So I was just wondering if anyone might know how to do this?

Thanks a lot! Now its working

But I think i misunderstood what this rewrite can do.

It seems it changes the homepage only - is that right?

So other pages, say home.com/modules/newbb will not become home.com/en/modules/newbb, but the URL will remain the same in both languages for all such pages.

If this is so I guess this rewrite won't solve my seo problem because it only rewrites one page of the site - am i right?

Was it only the htaccess file you changed?

Anyone using xlanguage on their site will is also be really suffering in terms of seo as things stand
