Hi,
Just to add, you arent allowed to stream anything, but they do allow legal porn sites, whatever that means??
You arent allowed warez sites or illegal download sites.
Thought Id throw that in for you, just to let you know

Hi,
I have a company that gives you a hosting package with unlimited everything. Web space,Bandwidth,mysl databases,portegesql datbases, XOOPS 2.0.15 etc.
The one off fee is £15 and you pay nothing else, no yearly fee, monthly fee, nowt.
You need your own domain name and thats it, well as well as your £15 lifetime fee.
I am testing the hosting at the moment so I will get back to you soon with some details.
So far 99.9% uptime and no probs what so ever.
Anyone else interested then I will get the details for you.

Thanks for your answer zyspec. But I have changed to id variable to some insignificant variable ie (myincid) and I'm still losing my variable' s value. I might just give up on XOOPS and try some other CMS. Only joking I really really like using xoops.
I just need an answer to this so I can finish my site and then post a new module that I wish to allow other XOOPS members to download.
If anyone can help with this, some piece of code, or anything please post it here.

Hi,
I'm trying to pass variables between web pages and anything I try, nothing works.
I have tried cookies, sessions, file writes (which if you have a large userbase would be a nightmare).
What am I doing wrong.

The variable I am trying to pass through is the ID in the URL. I capture it in $_GET['id'] and everything works fine until I either call my database connection or move pages and my variable seems to disapear.

I have tried writing the variable to a $_SESSION variable that I have set in XOOPS preferences in the custom sesion area.

Is there another way of passing this variable because I am really stumped.

Please someone help, please!!

Problem with activation

Hi,
Once a user has activated there account from the email that is sent to them, my site seems to come to a stick problem.
When the user then tries to sign in straight after activation they get the error message "Selected account has already been activated." over and over.
If anyone can put there finger on what is happening I would love to hear from you

Hi,
I wish to design new XOOPS smarty variable like {$xoops_isuser}.
Does anyone know how I go about this and where to find the information.
Plus where would I install them so that XOOPS can recongise the new variable.

Hi,
I have grabbed some ID info from the url with the $_GET command and stored it in a variable.
When I try and call up this variable on another page the variable that I assigned to the $_GET is empty.
How do I use variable information gained from another page on my site.
I have tried using setcookie and retreiving the info from that but this comes back as an empty variable again using $id = $_COOKIE(mine)
Can anyone help me or at least understand what I want to do.

I would like to change some of the variable meanings on xoops. What I mean are the variables _US_PASSWORD = Password ect.

Where do I find the variables to change there meanings
