Been there done that.

MySql version is: 3.23.58-nt

I'm not saying that there is a problem with IIS, PHP, MySql as I've been running it on a 2003 server for about 8 months now. It's I just can't get it to run on my laptop with XP Pro and IIS 5.

I have noticed one thing though the MySql Admin shows the OS Platform as "Whistler", I don't know if this means anything.

If anybody figures out how to run MySql, Php, and IIS 5 on XP Pro let me know how you did it. I've been trying for about a month and haven't been able to do it.

I get as far as 'Confirm Database Settings' in the install I click 'Next' and I end up with the error:

Fatal error: MySQL extension not loaded in c:\Inetpub\wwwroot\Xoops\class\database\mysqldatabase.php on line 74

I wanted to set up my current site on my laptop and try the upgrade to 2.2.x and see what problems I'm going to have. But I haven't been able to get past this point.

I currently using CBB instead of Newbb will the changes in the update to Newbb upset CBB? Or should I ignore the Newbb part of the update.

Tried the FAQ but I can't get it to work, I get the error:
"ERROR 1045 (28000): Access denied for user 'ODBC'@'localhost' (using password: NO)"

Does XOOPS really need MySQL Database 3.23.XX or will it run on newer versions?

I'm currently trying to install XOOPS vsn 2.2.3 rc with PHP 5.05 and MySql-5.0.13-rc-win32 and IIS 5.1

During the XOOPS install; at the point where it tries to install the database, I end up with the error:

"Fatal error: MySQL extension not loaded in c:\Inetpub\wwwroot\Xoops\class\database\mysqldatabase.php on line 74"

I have set up the MySql extension and the extension path in the PHP.INI and setup the system paths to point to the PHP folders.

Any help appreciated.

Cloned Templates and Module Updates

There is something I'm not clear about. If I have cloned a template from the default, when I do a module update do I need to reimport all the html files for the updated module into the clone (and loose any modification I might have done)?

PHP Code in News 1.4 Document

Is it possible to insert PHP code into a News document?

What I would like to do is have a conditional display of part of the document.
Ie:

Blah, blah
.
.
if( AnonymousUser )
{
Please register to see clip.
}
else
{
>>Click here to see clip<<
}

I’m not a PHP/Xoops programmer so and example of how to do this would be appreciated.
