hmm... something funny may be happening with the permissions...

To get to the admin, go tohttp://www.YOURSITE.com/admin.php. If you aren't logged in, it'll ask you to log in first.

Check the group permission to see that the Main Menu block isn't disabled and that you are allowing access to at least one module to your "Registered Users" group and "Webmasters" group (although, webmasters usually are given access automatically, anyway...).

post back if this doesn't work. good luck with your site!

a lot of times, it's a browser compatibility issue. more feature-rich editors use technologies exclusive to internet explorer (unfortanate, but true).

specifically to the DHTML editor, which is the one that NewBB uses, the sliders and buttons relating to text functions have you set up what type of text style you will use first, then type in the text you want with that style into the little text box by the buttons, then click "add". smilies are a little odd in that, no matter where your cursor is, it'll add the smilie at the end of the post. in this case, just cut and paste.

hope that helps.

i think i remember these as a couple of road blocks i ran into when i upgraded to 2.2.x a while back....

especially with 2.2.x and the compatability issues the new suite brings, it's important to, whenever you put new files on the site, to update your modules, especially the system module. based on those errors, it might be a syncronization error. try updating your modules from the modules administration page.

for the custom blocks, i think there's some weird difference between 2.0.x and 2.2.x that prevents them from being migrated over. i'll try looking into it a bit more, but for now, if it's not too difficult, might as well cut your losses and build them over again. to create a custom block in 2.2.x, go to the blocks page and use the slider at the top of the list to find the listing system > custom block.

for the users being lost, did you try users > find users? if that doesn't work, there's a good chance they can be found under modules > extended profiles > users. it's a little complicated with the new system, but you have to click the "add" hyperlink that's to the right of the slider. it'll find all the users in the system and display them for you to select from.

hope this all helps. good luck with your site!

try changing the permissions for the group "Anonymous Users". Also, if you're not supporting sign ins, you can remove the "Login" block (don't disable access to the user.php page, though. you still need to log in as admin). Finally, i may be wrong... but if i remember right, i think disabling new registrations is an option under general preferences.... check the options on that page and see if it's there.

hope that all helps. good luck with your site!

hmm... well, that's odd...

did you try updating the system module after you installed the new files on your server?

i think you can upload files using the default download module that's packaged w/ XOOPS (pre-2.2), or you can check out WF-Downloads and enable the feature on that module that allows users to upload their own files for download. the upload link should appear on the site menu when you're on the Download section of the site.

good luck w/ your site!

i think all the tags that are available for XOOPS forums are available on the little dashboard that appears above where you type your posts in.

hmm... let's see (all of these are in sets of bracketed tags, the closing tag w/ a slash before the cue word):
link
email
img
code
quote
size
font
color
b
i
u
d

As far as I know, there is no restriction when it comes to the footer, though it is courteous to put somewhere on the site that the site runs on the XOOPS platform.

that's odd... when i updated to 2.2 and updated the mod, i didn't have too many problems (the only glitch i experienced is that i had to access the mod using the update mod page instead of the drop-down menu). Did you try updating all of your modules?

hmm... haven't made "spoiler text" on my site before, but have you tried using the HTML FONT tag? If I remember right, that should override the CSS definitions. If that doesn't work, then try creating a new CSS ID in your theme's CSS file made just for spoilers and reference to it in your blocks/documents/theme/et cetera.

sorry... i'd test it out for ya, but the server that hosted my site burned down.... good luck w/ your site!
