Is anyone still working on Formulaire ?

All the download links have gone dead

This module was a great boon to me. I'd hate to see it orphaned.

Hmm.. after a little investigating it seems I ought to look at Liase at http://brandycoke.com.

Well, if you like free better than simple and easy, try The Gimp. The site does a good job at explaining what it is.

There are free plugins for The Gimp that can do some pretty cool logos and other fancy-text jobs. There are even cooler things you can do if you run Linux and use gimp-perl. See this site for some examples. I did all the buttons and page sub-titles with The Gimp.

I suppose you could just omit the whole left column section from theme.html...

Sunday afternoon I installed a standalone Gallery for my wife's site (which doesn't use Xoops). Wow. All I can say is that where once it was neat and slick it's now beyond slick.

The latest Gallery Remote has explicit support for PHP-Nuke and PostNuke Galleries. It's crying shame XoopsGallery isn't there. Of course it helps that the Gallery site uses PostNuke.

I'm going to have to try XoopsGallery again and see just how messy it is.

I would say it's a worthy goal for the module team to work with the owners of xoopsgallery.org and bring it up to the point where it's tracking Gallery releases as quickly as PHP-Nuke and Postnuke are.

(I know, he who proposes, disposes but I'm not sure I'm the guy for this)

I wouldn't call that an "easy way".. I'd hate to have to repeat those 12 steps and test after every point release.

Still, the information is appreciated.

Here's a neat idea.. Have an ancillary user info table that
would be user definable ala the "formulaire" module. For example, I'd really like to collect a snail mail address from people who are registering on one particular site. But right now that would be a pain.

I have verified that V1.05 of e-xoops has (had?) this feature. The graphic wasn't very sophisticated.. it didn't have the "stagger" effect shown below.

e-xoops.com seems to be broken at the moment. If anyone's really interested I have a tarball from March '03.

I have a customer still running that code.. They're getting a free upgrade to XOOPS 2.0.6 this month.

One more oddity: Not all of the mime types listed in xoops_version.php and class/mimetypes.php are available for selection in the admin/general settings page.

For sample "mid" is not there. Odd.

Also it would be better if this list box were bigger and sorted somehow.

Here's a couple of wish list items

1. Update the file size automatically

2. Display the mime type when listing the downloads

I did find an odd bug pretty much right away. I uploade a file called "RANCE.doc". The downloads entry correctly referenced it as "RANCE.doc". But on disk it had been renamed to "rance.doc". So there's a case-mangling bug somewhere.

I am liking it, though.

I'm looking for away to have one XOOPS group be allowed to upload and non-members not be allowed to upload. Is that a goal here?

Well, ignore that last post. I deleted the old mydownloads module, and removed the module directory, installed the new one and checked the permissions.. and it's working now.
