Well, I did not see any in 2.2. You still have my test site full access, take a look.

Thanks.

Sorry Jack, can you refresh my memory?

Will I still be able to have "top news" or "recent news" blocks, if I use AMS? Because I think those blocks are from "News".

1. restore from backup

in my template section there is a system_block_login.html looks like this:

<form style="margin-top: 0px;" action="<{$xoops_url}>/user.php" method="post">
<{$block.lang_username}><br />
<input type="text" name="uname" size="12" value="<{$block.unamevalue}>" maxlength="25" /><br />
<{$block.lang_password}><br />
<input type="password" name="pass" size="12" maxlength="32" /><br />
<!-- <input type="checkbox" name="rememberme" value="On" class ="formButton" /><{$block.lang_rememberme}><br /> //-->
<input type="hidden" name="xoops_redirect" value="<{$xoops_requesturi}>" />
<input type="hidden" name="op" value="login" />
<input type="submit" value="<{$block.lang_login}>" /><br />
<{$block.sslloginlink}>
</form>
<a href="<{$xoops_url}>/user.php#lost"><{$block.lang_lostpass}></a>
<br /><br />
<a href="<{$xoops_url}>/register.php"><{$block.lang_registernow}></a>

Where can I change the the text?

Ok, here are the problems, XOOPS and Opera 7.53 or 7.54(the newer versions), do not work well. I am not sure how to resolve these, so I have to bring it to a higher authority.

1. members page: you can only view the first page in Opera, if you click on "next" or the page number, it does not go.

2. I believe it is a problem with newbb2 or this(xoops.org) web site. Even after I logged in and my id is shown on the Who's Online block, I cannot POST. In the past I was able to speratically by hitting the refresh bottom several times, but today, no matter what I do, it will not allow me to post. I am using Netscape 7.1 to log in and post here.
My own web site is using newbb1, I have no problem to post there using opera.

I am always wondering what is the function of xoops_session. Yes, I understand very well and have been using it in the "custom" session section. What I really want to find out are:

1. Where is the documentation on this? (I could not find any thing in the "Document site").
2. What is the difference between the "default" and "custom" sessions?
3. How can we make it different or modify the parameters?

THX.

I think the basic XOOPS robot.txt is ok. The first line is

User-Agent: *

That means every one is welcomed including the google. The disallow statement has the files that google crawler should not look into such as the cgi-bin and other XOOPS system files. I believe this web site is crawled every night and the admin did not change the robot.txt

Link popularity is an important factor according to Google. Get your site URL on websites that get crawled regularly and are relevant to your content. Some SE sites are crawled each day by Google.

Change/ update/ renew your content often. This is also beneficila to S/Es like Google

Submit a page to google that has keywords relavant to top news stories in world news. I did this and had a huge hit rate in 2 days.

Thanks, I think I have been crawled every night by Yahoo and google, but it is not showing in the search engine, perhaps the site is new. I heard it takes 3 months to show in Yahoo, if you do not pay $300/year for their premium package.

I do have new contents almost every day.

I will try to do as you suggested on relevant key words. But I thought only 15% of the traffic on the net are from the seach engines. How do I tap the other 85%?
