You can post from 5 (base) news articles in the main page. For the order go to admin->news->preferences and choose the method of posting news.

It's not banners area by the theme.

You can simply write something there, or you can place two banners less than 468X60 pixels, but be careful how you place the banners on these two places.

If you go admin->groups, from that session you can give rights for visitors, members and what else you want, to the blocks, modules etc

It's very easy.

Open with Dreamweaver the theme.html file and then it's very easy to change the navigation bar and it's links also. You must know a little bit of editing...

Have a look in your main file if these things are correct:

// XOOPS Physical Path
// Physical path to your main XOOPS directory WITHOUT trailing slash
define('XOOPS_ROOT_PATH', '/home/httpd/vhosts/yoursite.com/httpdocs/yourxoop');

// XOOPS Virtual Path (URL)
// Virtual path to your main XOOPS directory WITHOUT trailing slash
define('XOOPS_URL', 'http://www.yoursite.com');

Hi,

I've set up a site and it runs well. However, I have been asked to change the XOOPS Virtual Path (URL) for athestic reasons:

Currently, we have:

http://mysite.com

Which I want to change to:

http://www.mysite.com

When I change this URL - the site loads without errors but doesn't display anything!

What is the cause of this - I notice the XOOPS site has the full URL displayed when loading modules etc - so I presume its possible - any ideas what I need to change or do?

I think that is not THE problem in that case.
Anyway try to change the cache times on your site. I haven't experience in Xoop yet but I'm trying nery hard to do that.

In that block the numbers of visitors won't update. That number is always 0 (zero). Only the members number is changing correct.

Well, for all of you who like to see the correct counts of guests, you have to give group rights to the whoisonline block even to not registered users.
Then it works for me at least but I'm not happy about showing this block to guests.

I have the same problem with the permissions in "news" and "sections" module. We have not till now an answer for this very serious problem.

If this thing will continue I'l change platform.

I update my site and I still can't see the "admin menu" when I log-in in the site like a special member that I have right to the "news" module.

I have 9 posters but noone can access the "news" module.

The only way is to give access (rights) in one of the "system admin" like -> smilies.

When I do that, then the admin menu of the special members is ok.

Is that a bug or it's normal?

Please, if you want help me
