I use Filezilla:

filezilla.sourceforge.net

Once you've got an ftp program installed on your machine, set it up with your host's ftp details (hostname, username, password) then upload the module from your hardrive to the /modules/ directory in the root of your XOOPS installation on the web server. Once this is complete you should be able to see the new module listed at the bottom of the screen in Admin > Modules. Click on the install icon there and away you go.

Notifications on a site I recently developed aren't working. When you click to update a notification option you get the following message:

"Taking you back to where you were... "

and if you're in a forum thread selecting notification options you also get:

"ERROR: Topic not selected!"
"ERROR: Thread not selected!"

See for yourself here.

Any ideas?

It's not a shop module, it's a completely separate ecommerce package running alongside XOOPS that has been heavily customised so that it feels part of the same.

Thanks for the praise so far , keep the comments coming.

Hi,

We've just launched the latest incarnation of the Firetoys ecommerce & community portal site which utilises XOOPS and a tableless/CSS positioned layout which incorporates a "centre content first" approach in the markup.

Please take a look at the site and see what you think. Any comments are greatly received, you can use the contact form on the site, this forum or PM me.

Currently we've had feedback relating to issues of speed and the site apparently crashing IE6 at times.

Thanks !

Newbb2 upgrade - missing some topics

After ironing out a few initial problems with an upgrade from Newbb1 to Newbb_2.02 (I had template problems similar to this) I thought all was well, until I noticed that some topics were missing from the forums. It seems strange that it still displays a list of some topics, but not the complete set as per the quantity shown in the Newbb index page. I've tried re-syncing the forums in the admin section with no luck.

I'm confused as to why this is the case, can anyone offer any pointers?

Fatal error: Cannot instantiate non-existent class: xoopsformhiddentoken in...

Hi,

I've recently moved my XOOPS installation from a sub-folder to the root (as per this thread). Having ironed out some initial problems I've got the site running again with the exception making changes to the database in the admin section. Every time I try to make changes to the setup I either get bounced back without the changes being made or I get the following:

Fatal errorCannot instantiate non-existent class: xoopsformhiddentoken in /web/sites/026/********/www.********.co.uk/class/xoopssecurity.php on line 220

I'm stumped. Can anyone help with this?

...and to follow that up, I get this message in the blocks admin page between the drop-down menus and the blocks table:

Fatal errorCannot instantiate non-existent class: xoopsformhiddentoken in /web/sites/026/*********/www.********.co.uk/class/xoopssecurity.php on line 220

Duh !

Yeah cheers for that, I can now access the site. I've added a line in the .htaccess also that lets me change the index file back to index.php without it being preferred over index.html.

DirectoryIndex index.html index.php

My next problem is that when I'm in the admin section and make a change to the main preferences for example I get the following message:

"Taking you back to where you were...."

...and then it bounces me back without having saved the changes.

Any ideas on that one?

Hi,

Firstly, sorry if this sort of stuff has been discussed a million times, I've looked in the FAQ and scoured the forums and not found an answer yet. So...

I've had an installation of XOOPS running in a sub folder which I now want to move to the root of the webserver. I copied the entire site to my local machine then uploaded it back to the root, changing the paths in the mainfile as I went. I also had to temporarily rename index.php to index2.php so that the current (static) site was still live whilst I set everything up. Upon trying to access index2.php in a browser I get the following:

Error [Xoops]: Smarty errorunable to write to $cache_dir '/web/sites/026/*******/www.*******.co.uk/cache'Be sure $cache_dir is writable by the web server userin file class/smarty/Smarty.class.php line 1084

So... err... I don't know what to do. Any tips?... pleeeease!
