Hi.
Today I noticed that a spambot has broken my 2.0.x default contact module in some way.
The website is running an old version of XOOPS, before the security token has been implemented - I've done various core code hacking on that website..

So, here the details.
Early, this morning, I've found these things of email in my box (I'll post only one, the last one. But I got other 4 similar mails, if someone is interested).

And later, this evening (21.00 on GMT+1), the spam has started.
I don't know if this spam arrived only to me, the guy who get the mails from the contact module, or if other peoples in the .net get this spam too - I don't have access to the mail server.
I don't post any of those spam maill 'cause they are very long.. if someone is interested I can post one later.

I've looked in the Apache server logs, I've found that several IPs have simply done a POST request masking the referer with my domain name -> there is not a GET request from those IPs (and i think this method can broke the security token too).

Right now I've disabled the contact form.

Any ideas, someone?

setlocale(), probably.
But it isn't pt_PT instead of PT_pt?

..AND..
What about next 2.2.x versions?
I mean, XOOPS Core Team discover a new security hole and there is the need of an urgent patch or there is a bugfix. This means that peoples who start to use XOOPS and need some feats of 2.2.x had to install 2.2.3a + 2.2.4 patch + 2.2.5security fix + 2.2.6 bug fixes + 2.2.N (where N can be a very high value.. look at the previous versions of xoops, 1.3 took 10 releases of bug fixes, 2.0 has arrived to .13.2)?

This is an HELL for Us, the community.

But hey, since the slogan of XOOPS is still 'Xoops is powered by you' what about if a guy take 2.2.3a, apply 2.2.4 patch and public release it? Maybe XOOPS Core call it a fork?

I've always trusted in the guys behind this great cms, and for what my time permit to me I've always tried to give back something to the community but hey.. Right now you're making me (and many peoples here in the community, I think) sick.

I assume that before you got this line, in the mainfile.php

define('XOOPS_URL', 'http://72.29.92.31/~gamesit');

Now, have you changed it in this?

define('XOOPS_URL', 'http://www.games-tm.co.uk');

And.. are you sure that you've saved and reuploaded the changed mainfile.php?

Open xoops_root_path/mainfile.php with a text editor and redefine XOOPS_URL

Try to copy/paste the directory language/english/, then rename it to your language set.

And remember that this bridge is still in alpha

>I think it would be better to hold a theme contest, let the community come up with inovative solutions then the core team can select the top 3 or 5 and have those submitted to a vote

I disagree, a theme contest will evolve into a challange (my theme is better than yours etc).
Why don't we try to be constructive at all? Explain you ideas about a new design here, don't think about a final product right now.
After you got a nice idea is the minor work to elaborate it in a new fancy theme (imho)

Ok, you explain which versions of XOOPS and XHTML you want for the new XOOPS official website's theme.
Another question, about your fireframe (see your attachment) is: Are you sure about that 3 colums style?
I say this because you can easily find in various part of the web (opensourcecms.com -> XOOPS section, if you want an example) that 'This tool feels like JAPHPNC (Just Another PHPNuke Clone)... Nothing that terribly innovative'. I don't want to be offensive - I use this 'tool' - but a 3 (classic nuke) column style like the odiern one can't change this point of view, in my opinion.
What do you think about an innovative 2+1 colum style?
Here an example of what I meanhttp://oswd.org/design/preview/id/2346
Of course this need some improvements (css, colours to match the new fancy logo, various - permodule - enhancements, etcetera), but I like to have the real *content* as the first visible thing in a website.
Third navigation column can be use as a 'static' search + main menù + user menù/login column when in the second one you can put module extra navigation/things.
