Hi Eierhahn,
I had a similar problem on a site of mine (which at the moment isn't on line).
I solved it using multiple installations of the TinyD module, which is a version of Tiny Content which can be installed up to 10 times on a XOOPS Site.
Each installation of TinyD automatically gave me an entry in the main XOOPS menu and most of those installations had only one page in them. But for each TinyD module you can build a hierarchy of sub-menu categories.
Before trying to multiply install TinyD you should read the instructions (if I remember they're in the ReadMe file which comes with TinyD). Then you'll have no problem getting the menu structure you describe.
Good Luck,
Alan

Hi,
I liked your design - two small suggestions:
- your logo (particularly with the arrows left & right) screams to me at least that it wants to be positioned centrally
- I had to go to your faq to find out that your shows were for bands (and not gothic fashion or similar) - maybe an explanation of what exactly you do would help - and building the word 'concert' in yout text (particularly on your opening page) could probably help your seo.
Good luck

Hullo,

as a way of rewarding the designers, why don't we propose a competition with perhaps the best 2 designs in a number of categories (kids, games, charity organisations, b2b, shop/handcrafts) being included in a XOOPS theme package.
As a condition for the use of the themes in this package we could say that a footer link back to the designer's home page must be left in.

So the (young? dynamic? student?) designer would get something for his c.v. and for his site ranking.

This theme package would help promote Xoops' image.
We could promote it as a seperate download from XOOPS itself containing design/cutting edge themes. Then we could then keep the standard themes (delivered with XOOPS itself) simpler.

And yes I know this will almost involve more work - however it could pay for itself.

But who is going to write the hack to manage this in the membership module?

(Just in fun!)

Sounds like a good idea & could be a way of helping programmers to concentrating their resources.

Hallo Lemernis,
you can use an graphic program such as photoshop to to create all your page content (text & graphics) as one image, this is not a very effective way to go about things. Normally web content is created as text and graphics seperately. This has a number of advantages - mainly to do with the problem that images are relatively large in comparison with text. Putting a whole page in one graphic would means that your readers with conventional (analog) modems would have to wait quite a long time before your page loads and that you might get a large bill for traffic if you get a lot of visitors.

You can start adding text directly in your articles module once your site is up and running - this is one of the advantages of using a content management system such as Xoops.
You need to use the content editor in the module to type in your text and add your images. The XOOPS and the module then integrate your content into your XOOPS page framework, more or less like how your questions here have been entered in this forum.

You can the appearance of your site and pages by installing and modifying themes and templates. Do a search for this on this site. The original XOOPS documentation isn't complete at the moment but you'll find links to versions outside this site in the FAQ and forums.

Hope this helps.

Good luck,

Hallo David
I'm not sure that I've found your question - do you mean that quickbase is a great database system comparable with MySQL (apart from not being OpenSource) and that you're wanting to know if anyone's ported XOOPS to use it?

Hallo,
In some modules these three dots are added by the module theme - in others its coded in the module itself.
However the three dots should be added after a word and not replace the last three letters of the text extract.
Hope this helps.

Hi,
bearing in mind your subject, it might be relevant that if I remember correctly, there's a module - I think it's SmartSections - which allows you to change meta-tag information according to the content of a page.
Just a thought...

Hi,

I very much like the simplicity of the theme but take a look at the layout in a Moz. browser - the widths of the second column aren't right.
