The host has put me back online and says they will monitor the service to see what is happening. Thanks for your help.

I had been running the same modules for over a year with little modification except to upgrade newbb, etc. I was running mylinks, mydownloads, flashchat, newbb2, file manger, wfsections-pdf, wordbook, XOOPS news, that I can recall right off.

I had added two modules that day - wiwimod and xooperstore - both of which I run on other sites hosted by the same provider.

Hope this helps.

Viziweb has suspended my site saying Quote:
Your site had a 600MB apache process that was overloading the server.

I replied that I had not been online at the time they specified to which they replied: Quote:
It is just your index.php file. Are you running any modules on your site that may be a rss feed or something similar.

Of course my index.php file is xoops. Any ideas on what may cause this?

I use wiwimod and like it real well. None of the blogs really excite me. Both of these have been discussed at length recently and a search of the forum should turn up plenty of opinions on both of these.

Good luck!

I have been looking over this information and have some questions. But first let me explain my situation.

I have two sites on different domains. I am really wanting to share the database tables for certain modules. Does this hack work across different domains or just subdomains?

Thanks,

Make sure that there is nothing after the closing ?> in mainfile.php. No empty lines, no carriage returns, nothing. Then save, reupload (make sure mainfile.php is writable on the server before you reupload), chmod to 444 and you're set to go.

This fault happened to me after making some changes to mainfile.php using the cpanel editor, even though I am certain I did not add any extra spaces or characters after the closing tag.

The above is from the FAQ on this issue but this happens to me every time I modify mainfile.php with cpanel unless I just happen to remember to check to make sure there is nothing after the closing ?>.

Sorry if it seems that I have an attitude - not meaning too. I did not write the info to the mainfile it was written there by the info I supplied on the previous install pages.

monty perhaps you missed all this good info in my original post:

Quote:
I am trying to install XOOPS on my laptop. I am running Apache 2.0.5, MySQL 4.0.2, and php 4.3.8 on a debian (utunbu) system.

Perhaps you did not know that debian ubuntu is a linux distro however.

Anyway, yes E_All is set in common.php and my php.ini file allows error reporting - but there are none.

The mainfile.php is correct with the info I put in on the previous pages.

Hope this answers all your questions.

Yes I have looked through the info on blank pages. One would assume that you would not have to say so. However, I cannot utilize any that I have seen since they do not match my problem at all. The only one that came close was not installing at the same point in php5 but it was a problem unique to php5. As already stated I am using php4.

I have checked my mainfile to make sure there are not extra lines or spaces at the end (I have been through that one before). So I am still unsure what to do.
