Catz - I will try

I received version 2.0.5 through my web host installed through Fantastico. My server uses apache, as for PHP and MySQL please refer to title "If I only had a brain" I know I have a MySQL section on my host control panel, as for php i am not sure what you mean, isnt XOOPS writen in PHP?

I am sure this is not much help to your question, but I tried.

Well I was blessed with the "white screen" and clicked the link to trouble shoot. Says I should go admin - Pref - debug php. So I did. went back to the page that gave me the error message and received this:

Notice [PHP]: Undefined index: xoops_rblocks in file class/smarty/Smarty.class.php line 626
Notice [PHP]: Undefined index: xoops_lblocks in file class/smarty/Smarty.class.php line 626
Notice [PHP]: Undefined index: xoops_ccblocks in file class/smarty/Smarty.class.php line 626
Notice [PHP]: Undefined index: modules in file class/smarty/Smarty.class.php line 626
Warning [PHP]: mysql_fetch_array(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in file class/database/mysqldatabase.php line 123
Error [Xoops]: Smarty: [in db:system_userinfo.html line 112]: syntax error: expecting '=' after attribute name 'ts' (Smarty_Compiler.class.php, line 1375) in file class/smarty/Smarty_Compiler.class.php line 1824

Means nothing to me - it is the samething for any profile features such as clicking whos online and edit account. Any ideas?

do not shut off the block, just go to modules in your admin and place a "0" for the order. This will hide the content in your main menu but have it listed in the Free Content block. Hope this is what you were asking about.

For my site I have all y modules set at "0" to hide in the main menu and have made my own links to the sections I want using imenu.

Check and see if this is what you are looking for.HERE

When your not sure of a module or have a question I would say use the search box on the top right and enter a key word of what you are looking for. I am a newbe (under statement) and i use search ALL the time because I do not want people to know how stupid I am with XOOPS

if the link i gave you is not what your looking for try a search for "banners". I like this because i am not good with waiting for answers.

OK I got it now, that has helped a lot! it never occured to me to click on the artist name and it would take me to another form. guess i assumed that on the "add artist" screen that was all the fields that were available. BIG thank you!

BTW my site is an Indie Radio Station - there is a small processing fee to be broadcasted, however for your band i will wave that if you would like to submit some music. you can check the site at www.radiodevil.com if this is something you want to do email me at info@radiodevil.com and I will send you the direct link to the form.

Thanks a LOT

General Question 2.0 vs 2.0.5

Xoops works great for me! I use 2.0.5 which was made available through the fantastico option of my server. I have used dozens of modules for 2.0.5 that are advertised as use for 2.0. Is there a difference? I have one module that is just not working, the discography. Is it perhaps due to any changes in 2.0 and 2.0.5? does not seem to be many module options geared to 2.0.5 so i thought perhaps the 2.0's were the same. if not is it best to use 2.0 seeing that everything i would want to use is in 2.0 format?

Great Looking Site! On your Disc admin side does it give you the option to list discs and songs? mine only has image, link, bio, and like artists. I also visited the developers site a couple of weeks ago and contacted but no response.

When posting news, discography, and just about anything else there is an option for image manager, what file is this looking in for the image? or is there something that needs to be edited to tell the image manager where to look? I just have a blank pull down menu - Thanks in advance for helping the newbe, but I have done pretty well with no knowlegde of PHP!

On a side note you can check out the site (RadioDevil), pretty cool internet radio station developed with xoops.

EDIT: ok i am really a newbe - i played around enough to answer my own question.

The joys of a newbe (story of my life) - Does anyone use the Discography Mod? Nothing on the mod works for me. I can add a bio and that is it. no pics, lyrics, links or any other features that are seen on the developers site. When a link is added on the discography I get :

http://radiodevil.com/webradio/modules/cdbase/<a%20href="http://larryedoff.com"%20target="_blank">http://larryedoff.com</a>

obviously it is adding my website in front of the artists website. I host an Internet Radio site with XOOPS (RadioDevil.Com and would love to get this mod working.

Also off the topic what is the best way to back up a site? I would love to back the site up before I add new mods that might mess the site up.

Thanks!
Chad

Thanks guys! I could not even access the admin side of xoops. besides just a blank screen and the ctemplates folder being empty (except the index.html) everytime I would choose "Home" in the main menu it would just refresh the page. I just uninstalled and reinstalled XOOPS and have got the basic config back and made a back-up copy in a seperate folder. I have learned my leason I am installing mods and am sure i just installed a file in the wrong area and maybe overwrote a file i should not have. can you say "newbe"
