Chad,

Thanks! I was going to be approaching this next on my Donations dev to do list. You have saved me some time!

My goal is to have a configuration module that will allow you to determine a donation level that would be mapped to a group. As such, you could have a simple one group "sponsors" as you mentioned, or you could have 5 levels (for example) each with a different group of varying permissions, etc.

If implementing this proves too cumbersome for a quick job, I will be turning in just a basic version for now.

Again, thanks!

-Jeff

Yes, that is true that you CAN create and edit your GEDCOM files/date from within phpGedView which is one of the reasons we chose it for porting to Xoops.

If anyone is interested in assisting on the project, please let me know and sign up on the Dev site (link is listed above in this thread).

THANKS!
Jeff

You can also try iContent for your race results. WYSIWYG only works on IE browsers though.

Based on the basic description you have provided, it should work, so there must be something else going on. What, specifically, is the code you have entered for your signature?

Also, try putting the slash after the first link.

http://site/xoops/ instead ofhttp://site/xoops

I have seen similar behavior, but occasionally the system needs that final slash to recognize it and look for an index file of some sort.

See this thread to see how to remove the banner at the top of the page.

If you "remove the login" from the main page, you will need a link somewhere to get to the login page. Some people have used themes that put the login link in their themes. (There are a few threads on this that I can find if you'd like them.) This makes it easy because there is a link at the top of the page to click to login rather than using the login block. Make sure that you DO have a way to login before you hide the login block. Otherwise you'll have to manually type in the link in your browser and your user's will likely not know where to go. (The link is www.yoursite.com/user.php)

To remove the block, review the information on JackJ's XOOPS For Dummies tutorial under "Blocks".

Am I doing it all wrong?

Sounds like there are a few things going wrong here.

I ran into similar errors on a recent fresh install. Setting the start page to anything but "none" returned an error. I'm not sure what the problem was. I re-installed the system a second time, and it started working fine, so I'm not quite sure what could be causing that error.

Content for a module will not show under blocks, so they cannot be forced to the "main window" that way. Content for iContent will only show under the iContent module whether selected directly or as the start page.

I'll have to think on this one some more. Anyone else?

I would have to agree with kenmcd. I, too, am more than willing to assist with documentation. JackJ's tutorial is an EXCELLENT start, but there needs to be more. AND it SHOULD be located on this site, even if updated by the docs team. While the Wiki is helpful, it often doesn't go into the details that Jack does in his tutorial.

Also, I keep finding out about the various sites. Who are they for? Where are they? Doesn't it make sense that there would be a single directory HERE that would tell us where they are, who they are for, and how to volunteer if we so desire?

I have been a part of many volunteer organizations over the years, and I can assure you that the easiest way to lose your volunteers is to ignore their offers for assistance.

And you DID set the preferences so that users cannot register themselves, correct? :) Just checking.
