Can someone tell me of a content module like WFSections or whatever that allows the use of PDF documents?

I can't seem to find one that works.

I kind of sorta use FreeBSD with XOOPS.

I use MacOS X as my development server for testing modules and themes before uploading them to my live site which I believe is RedHat.

It works very well using MacOS X but then Apple made it so easy to actually setup so I don't know what the full blown system is like.

FreeBSD is such a pig to setup.

Try Mandrake 9 or something like that if you want a free hassle free *NIX to use. It has Apache, PostGre, MySQL, PHP etc.

PHPNuke has a module that allows you to translate the site at the click of a button using BabelFish or some other service.

Is there a XOOPS module that does the same thing?

Failing that, how do you actually use the translations of XOOPS? I can't seem to see an option.

Am I blind or is it based on location of your ISP?

Bad Word filter

Not sure if this is a bug or what but there seems to be a funny issue with one word in particular.

I have turned bad word filtering on and added the usual words but when I do the word A$$ (misspelt incase word filtering is turned on here) it replaces the reference to words that begin with this e.g. assured, assumed etc with [naughty word] which is what I told XOOPS to print instead of the word.

Can anyone tell me of a way to stop this from happening?

Ta

Does anyone know of a maps module for XOOPS?

In particular one that can be configured to any map site not just ones like MapQuest et al?

MapQuest is limited in maps from around the world, in particular New Zealand which is where my site is aimed at.

There is a good site for maps in NZ called Wises to which I'd like to connect to, but I'd like to do it from my site and not link to the map.

This has been done with the weather module on my site so I'm picking it can be done with other types of info.

Anyone?

I've checked my test server and it appears to be running but everytime I go to run the Wiki I get a 404 error saying /modules/wakka/HomePage was not found on this server.

Is there a config file I haven't edited yet or something?

I'm having big problems with installing WakkaWiki.

I copied the module into the modules directory and ran the install as per normal XOOPS module installs.

However, there was no directory called HomePage and so this threw up an error.

No matter, I created the directory but now I get the directory listing because there is nothing in there.

The documentation given doesn't say what is required to get it up and running.

Am I missing a file or what.

The admin settings give me options that don't seem to change anything, there's no links for adding documents or anything.

Please help because I really want to get this going.

Thanks.

I'm looking at implementing a system on my site where people can edit documents with or without logins.

The Wiki system that the XOOPS system employs might be what I'm looking for but I need to know which one it uses.

There is a module called WakaWiki but it talks about a mod for Apache.

Considering that I don't host my site, I can't state whether or not my host actually has this mod.

What is the issue with this mod?

First of all, great site. As a Mac Man I now have another resource, keep up the good work.

As for layout issues.

Problem is with IE apparently.

It happens with a number of themes using IE, including the main XOOPS site.

It should have been fixed with IE6 but obviously not.

I recommend using tables instead of DIVs as this appears to be where the problem lies.

How can I add new or change my smilies?

I've seen some pretty cool ones around but I'm not sure how to add them to an existing database.

This may have been covered before but I couldn't seem to find it.

Thanks guys/gals
