thanks for your response. i gave that a shot and no luck. in fact, i deleted the entire wfsection_article.html file and it still nothing worked. i even deleted everything in templates_c in case it was caching. still didn't work. could this code be contained a little deeper in the logic?

Ok, first rule when changing a template file is always to update the module afterwards, there was no need to delete the whole file.

The wfsection_article.html file contains every bit of info that you do not want and deleting the correct items should have done it. Thats if you updated the module afterwards.

download this file and overwrite the original file (wfsections/templates/) and then update wfsections from module admin. This should get rid of all the info that you wanted.

You can then compare both files to see what was removed for future reference

The registered globals are set to "off" on the server that's running my site, yet I don't have a single problem when using banners.php.

I'm sick of phpBB. I don't have anything against it but I'm just sick of visiting forums to see that they're all running on phpBB2 (aarrg). Now, newbb is clean, fast, scalable and it works perfectly with Xoops, so why change it with some crippled, poorly-implemented board?

The Invision board on the other hand is much nicer but I've seen many people complaining about problems they were having with it. My suggestion is, just wait for something new, otherwise stick with newbb...

Thanks, i will give it a try tonight, just to test but isn't "global on" a major security risk

I believe that most people are looking at this somewhat from the wrong direction...

XOOPS will only create trouble for itself by making future developments of one of its key modules (newBB) rely on future updates by third parties like phpBB, Invision, etc.

I would understand this line of thinking (that is, "chuck newBB and replace it with a more feature-filled BB") if newBB were grossly inferior or filled with bugs. It is not. It only lacks a few key features, and it actually has some very nice features that I haven't seen on many other BB's (like Threaded view on posts).

It seems to me (no disrespect to Koudanshi intended) that rather than focusing on hacking XOOPS to be compatible with 3rd party BB's, which creates many problems, especially when either XOOPS or the 3rd party releases a new version, we should focus our efforts on adding needed features to newBB.

The devs have clearly stated that their (rightful) first priority is the XOOPS core, not the modules. I agree with this 100%. By adding to newBB rather than hacking and splicing other BB's, we can help create something that may actually be useful to the XOOPS devs, since they have precious little time to tinker with individual modules.

In other words, we help bring newBB up to speed (not that I think it needs much, mind you) so that they don't have to.

You can remove the reference to them in wfsection\templates\wfsection_article.html

I asked to show on the left the item "WF-Section Topics".

About my "weight" issue: i don't want to order also the articles by weight, but only categories and subcategories.

change that line to //$xoopsModule = XoopsModule::getByDirname("wfsection"); and see what happens?

Thanks Catz. I added an include for the errorhandler into wfscategory.php, and that fixed that problem. Also, turns out my database tables were missing the right prefix (since I installed them using phpmyadmin), so I added the correct prefix to my mySQL tables and voila! we're in business.

There was another underlining problem that caused this error, the field 'editaccess' (at lines 135 and 137) should have been removed and also any reference to them in this class.

I have updated this for the next update.

This is defined in your theme.html! Edit it to get what you want. The x2t theme has an alternative theme.html included, which will change the blocks order ...
