That's what he is saying yes, however, I do not see a reason when you are happy about XOOPS having one litte link back to xoops, er even just the name...

I dislike by all means that hosts incorrectly use th openbasedir principe...

You might wanne check class/uploader.php since every upload in XOOPS uses that class. Goodluck.

The tmp folder of your webserver is REALLY temporaly, so, most of the time after some time (end of creation of all files), the folder is emptied...

Why not just chmod the folders? Or isn't your host allowing that? (If ya using Lycos or anything like that, give up and use decent host... )

Edit: do you really mean the temporaly map? XOOPS uses (I think, not sure) the one that is set in php. Your host might wanne correct their settings if this is the case...

Well,

If you bought athttp://www.templatemonster.com/, then you can't place it directly in xoops. Since these are normal templates, have nothing to to with xoops.

First, does the template has a 3 colum layout? I hope for you otherwise you cannot use for xoops! (So then you bought for nothing...)

So, if it has a 3 colum layout you might wanne convert to xoops, can't be that hard, however, maybe a little courage and perseverance might be usefull. Ofcourse for questions you can always post here.

Hi,

A short and easy explanation about the difference between the 1.3.x and 2.0.x serie is that XOOPS 2.0.x uses the smarty system. Smarty is a system to keep layout seperated from coding, on this way, we are able to have a more powerfull system so users can control more without the knowledge of php. You might wanne use search for more info about all of this.

To upgrade from XOOPS 1.3.x to XOOPS 2.0.x is very simple. First, remove ALL files, then upload the XOOPS 2.0.x files, run /install/, after a couple of tests (when checking database) it will discover the XOOPS 1.3.x tables and will automaticly start the upgrading progress.

Hope this was helpfull.

Quote:
I tried it shortly on two machines, and was not impressed.
A 1.2GHz machine could barely maintain a problem free voice communication to a 2.4GHz machine on the same ethernet hub (with low networking trafic). Typical telephones require 8kbyte/s of data or less transmitted, but SkyPe went way beyond 90kbytes/s, and had a worse sound quality.

Well, here when I use Skype, it generates a download and upload around 5 kb/sec, sometimes it jumps to 10, but then lowers again. (Traffic controlled by AnalogX) When Skype on and no talking it generates every minute around 1kb/sec, prolly to check the friend list.

I was also not very impressed with the GUI.

The Skype layout is simple, and works perfect. Why should you need flashie things? It only takes up CPU usage, and then people like you would complain again

And I'm suprised you even dair to complain when you have hub. Hub are stupids things and when they get incoming signal they send to ALL clients that are connected to it. Some firewalls get nuts because of this behavior. You might wanne think about a switch or router...

Install again? Why should you do that? There is nothing chanced in database structure!

Just upload the 2.0.3 to 2.0.5 patch, download here, upload et voila...

Don't look father and especially don't make it harder then it is.
