This: "What we need to do is to make the experience for first-time XOOPS user as pleasant as possible."
Is a good thing..

I'm not really sure how big a help I could be, but as stated in other sub-forums here, I'm pretty much all in on XOOPS for the time being, so I'm willing to help as much as I can..

My coding skills are pretty out dated, and I basically cobble (read cut n paste) most of my stuff, but I'll look into the dox requirements and see if there's anything I can help with.

*edit*
Of the listed modules needing docs, I only use 2 of them (TDMDownloads & Newbb).

The trouble is that there are distinctly different versions of both of those modules in use at present.

I'll give this a bit more thought...

I'll weigh in on this topic eventually.
I think it's a bit premature, but eventually a needed discussion.

Focus should be fixed on the problems we have at the present time, so as not to get ahead of ourselves as the x3 project ended up.

Honestly I'd rather see 100% of the effort expended on bringing modules out of beta/rc/etc.

I'll get back with you on this Rod.

Culex? I'm still getting a blank admin screen after the last update to the module.(1.02)

Here are the xoops specs:
XOOPS Version XOOPS 2.4.5
PHP Version 5.2.17
mySQL Version 5.1.56
Server API cgi-fcgi
OS Linux
safe_mode Off
register_globals Off
magic_quotes_gpc Off
allow_url_fopen Off
fsockopen On
post_max_size 64M
max_input_time 60
output_buffering
max_execution_time 30
memory_limit 96M
file_uploads On
upload_max_filesize 64M

And for registered, but not admin users, the page format still is getting wrecked. Tested in Chrome, FF, and Opera.

*edit*
I need to add that I also cleared out the cache files before the install, and did a module update immediately after installing.
The more I know, the more I know that I really didn't wanna know.

Until you get a better solution taken care of, This is what I've done for links to pages outside of my CMS structure:
http://infernallogic.com/reguser/

The Site Navigation block is just a simple set of links with pics..
Cheesy? Sure. Does it work? You betcha.

Thanks. I've been waiting on a fix for this thing..
It confused me a bit before as it worked perfectly for admin users, but regular registered users were getting crashes..

I'll be plugging it in again this weekend. I'll let ya know how it goes.

It's a great addition to XOOPS when it's working..

*btw I was referring to the XIM module*

Ahh..

Create a new group to migrate your account to with full admin except the forums.

group settings seem like the way to go here..

Thats just a bad idea all around.. Don't let anyone talk you into that arrangement.

You are still ultimately liable for the content on your system whether or not you had access.

(XSS/SQL Injection) Multiple Remote Vulnerabilities

This page explains it better than I can:

Are there any alternative "Social Networking" modules that are being looked after?
If not, there needs to be. Honestly it needs to be in the basic module pack.

I actually have Yogurt installed and working, but I am aware of the security risks. So I am very careful about registration..

This obviously isn't a good idea for the long term, but I keep hoping to find someone who will help fix the issues...

I've been playing with XOOPS for a few years now, a year and a half ago I put it to use on my site as a member's portal and freeware library. Currently running 2.4.5 probably won't upgrade further until a viable 3.0 is released.

Zeta-Bordeux Theme cobbled together to make for a good navigation platform.

Non-XOOPS landing page:http://infernallogic.com/index.html
Members' Area with Files:http://infernallogic.com/reguser/

Nothing special, but it does the job.

Find a bug or two and tell me how to fix it. hahahahaha
There's a bound to be a couple.
