Did you want to be able to write in comments like that program? Or just do what you have listed in your post above? Sorry I didn't completely understand what you wanted in the app. I could try messing with some stuff and see what I can come up with. I'll let you know when I get something. Contact me by email if you would like to make other suggestions for this app. My email should be viewable under my profile.

Alan

Okay, I got it figured out. Sorry about that. You can download from the above link now.

Here is an app that I created. Be sure to view the instructions that are on the website. The download that you will be directed to is an MSI file that will install the program.

Judenware - URL Sender

Let me know if you need any changes or to view the source.

Be sure that all of your users are added to the registered users group.

Is your account only in the group that you are trying to restrict? If your account is in multiple groups, and one group is restricted and the other isn't, then you will not be restricted because the group that has permissions to view the blocks will still allow you to view the permissions.

I would suggest trying this by creating a test user, and adding that user to your group. Then try logging in as that user to see if the results are what you are wanting.

Here is a helpful link which tells you how to install a module.

Installing Modules

The modules that you are referring to are on your server, but you must actually activate the module first. So, follow the steps in the above link and see how that goes.

*Edit
From Mithys comment in the 2.0.9 release thread: "Xoops 2.0.9 beta is released without modules because it is a test version and because the PHP5 compatibility measures, we have taken in 2.0.9 has not been added to the "core" modules.
Whether the full version 2.0.9 will have any modules in it is still unsure but it is a fact that 2.1/2.2 will not hold any modules. Instead I will be working with the Module Developers to compile packages targeting specific site types and release them along with the separate core package."

Something that may help you to figure out the problem is to turn on PHP Debug Mode. You go to your Admin side, then System --> Preferences --> General Settings. Then change the debug mode to PHP Debug. If you can't figure out the errors (if there are any), then post the errors that you get into this thread.

Is your XOOPS site hosted by someone, or is it something that you have setup on a server of yours?

phpMyAdmin is a MySQL database tool that is usually installed under CPanel for users of websites. Most web hosts supply a CPanel page for theirs users. If you go to your CPanel site (if you have Cpanel), then you want to click on the MySQL Databases link. At the very bottom of the page that comes up, you will see a small link for phpMyAdmin. Once you are in phpMyAdmin, follow the directions from my last post.

If you don't have phpMyAdmin, then you may want to download a MySQL Control Center. Using this tool, you will need to setup a new host. For the host information, you should have the password and everything that you used when setting up your XOOPS database. Use that information.

Once you have your host setup with MySQL Control Center, then you will want to open the database, and right click on the table that we have been discussing, and click Drop Table.

Do you have access to phpMyAdmin on your server?

Okay, do you remember the location that you actually setup your database for XOOPS at?....go there.

Next, choose your XOOPS database.

Then, you will need to click on the link to the table and there is most likely a button that you can press to Drop Table, this will delete the table outright.

Good luck!

I don't really know any alternatives to the IFrame. Sorry Wheeler.
