Hey irmtfan,

I have a 160 by 120 swf file I'd like to show at the top of my right-hand column. By making the x & y dimensions of the category larger I can make the flash file larger..but the white space around my flash is very large. I am displaying this in a cloned 'Random Banner' block. Is there a more appropriate block? I'd like to fill my 160 pixel wide column with the flash. I've tried all kinds of included html to set margins or padding and have only a slight increase in image size. I've tried the 'size to block' function and that does scale up somewhat.

As for the support site. I had one of my questions translated to portuguese by a friend and posted at the site and did not get a response.

Hi ,

I did get rw banner to work with swf files. It ignores
my flv files. However when I add swf files the flash
movie is reduced to about 50 percent of normal size.
When I right click on the playing flash I can choose
'Zoom In' and the flash plays in the same space at
normal resolution. Anyone know how to get automatic
zoom to work by passing flash variables?

I was looking for two things. A method to manage flash banner ads on my site. Secondly a way to allow users to upload flv files and use them on their home page.

Flash content and ads

Hi,
I'm looking for a method to control flash ads on my site and possibly allow members (or 'special users') to upload flash files to my site like YouTube.

I searched around and see some programs to control ads or allow flash. I'm not sure any of these will handle flash ads. I've installed rw-banner and it did not work with my flv files. I also see xstreamer, flash-attack, smart media and debaser. Would anyone familiar with these care to comment about their ability to handle ads or allow user content to be uploaded. Automatic conversion from one video format to another would be nice.

Userinfo.php as login page?

Hi,

I'd like to have the userinfo page as the default login page. Under preferences it does not appear that I can select this but only choose a module as the login page. Is it not possible to do this from the admin menu? I've thought of a redirect if all else fails. Thanks. CM

Buddyfriends or why does this sql statement fail?

Hi,

I'm trying to get jordi_rc's patched buddyfriends module to run. See the thread at bottom about his fixed to buddyfriends. I get the '_MF_Problem' message whenever I try
to add a buddy to the list. This error code is used only in the code section below.

I echo the sqlstr string right in and html comment after it's built. The string looks like this

Note the empty field for fuid. Obviously the fuid is not being passed by the url called by this

I was hoping someone here is familiar with buddy friends. It looks like a good effort has been made to add this module.

Can Xoops handle more than one simultaneous administrators?

Hi All,

I'm building a website where we have an admin and a content designer. At least two of us need to admin the site at the same time. Is there any chance we will be trouncing on top of each other? If the designer only uses specific modules and I avoid those would we be ok?

Working CBB 3.07 with one large bug

Hi,

I've a new CBB 3.07 module loaded that is mostly working. I've a couple of problems at one spot that kills me. I have created my topics and categories and set permissions for each. I can create a new post, edit the content, preview, and submit the post. After the post is submitted I get redirected to a blank page. If I back up and browse to the forum I can see the post with the date & time set correctly. Clicking on the post (to view or reply) takes me to a blank page also. Viewing the source of the blank page shows exactly 10 blanks.

The first 3 links work but the fourth sends me to a blank page.

Recommended gallery?

Hi,

I've been playing with extgallery and don't see the ability to have public and private galleries. I'd like a recommendation on XOOPS galleries and am looking for the listed options. I know I won't get all the features I want but a recommendation towards something with many would save me from reviewing each and every gallery module.

Required Features

1) Community(public) and Private(personal) galleries. If you could restrict access to personal galleries to someone with a password that would be great.

2) Photo Ratings and Comments - By members and editors. It'd be nice to have contest galleries where only a select group could rate a photo.

3) Approval Required - Some Cateogories or Albums need approval before a pic is posted.

4) Hyperlinks - A link to albums by user x, top-rated photos or a specific picture. It be nice if a member could share his album or a picture in a post.


Nice to have Features

5) Image based watermarks It would be nice to include a small logo on top of picture to indicate where they were downloaded from.

6) Automatic thumb generation.

7) Easy management of photos For example - delete all photos by user in category x.

8) Slide shows.

9) Darken the browser when viewing one pic One of my managers likes this effect he saw in some sites.

10) Notifying members Some members would like to 'watch' a gallery for new content.
