Re: Multisite HACK for 2.2.3 Final

Hi Deepy, and Everyone.

Yes I found that out after many times screaming at my PC.

When I had the Groups permissions tables shared, site1 worked okay, but when I went onto site2, site2 had some modules working which had not been installed in site2, and when I went into the group permissions and removed them, they removed okay and site2 was now working. Which made me happy.

But when I logged back into site1, the modules I removed in site2 did not show, so I went into the group permission, and put them back, I spent a good 2 hours going round in circles.

So I found it better not to share the Group tables, as my sites don't always have the same modules installed, so now by not sharing the group tables, I can now install a module in site2, and set the permissions for site2, and the tables for site1 stay as they are set for site1.

And like I said before, before changing anything in the shared tables, always backup your database, as you can spend 4 hours working on your site getting it to work, and one simple mistake can in just 1 min, can cause you a whole load of pain when your sites stop working.

Re: Modules not working

Hi,

One thing you can try first, is to goto the admin section.

Click on Users, and then Groups.

Select Webmaster, and see it all the boxes are ticked.

Also what version of XOOPS are you using? Some modules won't work on 2.2.4

Chris

Re: Multisite HACK for 2.2.3 Final

Hi Deepy and Everyone

Managed to get my problem sorted out, but ran into further problems with groups and permission.

I found it far better not to share the group tables, as sometimes you want certain items on one site1, but not on site2.

It's all seems to be working fine now, but I would suggest to anyone out there trying to install and run this module, to BACKUP your SQL database regularly, just incase you make any mistakes.

Re: Multisite HACK for 2.2.3 Final

Hi Deepy

I have 1 small problem now, I installed 2 subsites, which I managed to get the modules permission working okay, and they work great now.

My main problem now is that if I login to cjsinks.co.uk, cjsprinting.co.uk, or my main site and click on list all blocks, I just get a white screen, the debug show up as:

Fatal error: Call to a member function getVar() on a non-object in /home/cjsnet/public_html/modules/system/admin/blocksadmin/blocksadmin.php on line 97
Notice [PHP]: Undefined index: 13 in file modules/system/admin/blocksadmin/blocksadmin.php line 97

What is wrong, and how do I cure this, cj-systems.co.uk, this site lists the blocks okay, but the other sites don't

Chris

Removing The Yellow boxes

Hi, I have a quick questions I need help with.

The input boxes have a black background with white text, which works great but on 2 feilds, i.e email and realname, the background is yellow, and you can't see the white text on yellow, how do i make these boxes black?

These yellow boxes appear on all themes I think.

Re: Some Auto Reload Issues in 2.2.3

Hi,

To cure this problem, edit your theme html file, and insert

<!-- RMV: added module header -->
<{$xoops_module_header}>

After the <link rel="

Re: Multisite HACK for 2.2.3 Final

Hi

I cannot login to Site2 using Site1 login details.

Can you explain how this mod works, as I cannot see where we have told site2 to use site1 login details, as all the work we have done has been on site1.

I would of expected to have to have altered something in site2.

Or is this just me not understanding.

Anyway I shall install XOOPS of the proper sites that I want to use later on this weekend, and then I shall pm you the details that you require.

At a later stage, if I install extra mods to either the mainsite or the subsite, will that make any difference.

Also just one last thing if when it's all working, if a new users signs up to site2, will they be able to login to site1, or do I need all users to signup to site1?

Chris

Re: Multisite HACK for 2.2.3 Final

Hi

I decided to delete everything, and started from scratch.

I did everything you told me, when I looked at my tables, I saw that in site1 I had these tables from site2:

block_instance
block_module_link
config
configcategory
configoption
modules
newblocks
sessions
sites

and site2 had no extra tables.

And I could only login as normal using site2 login details.

What did I do wrong?

Chris

Re: Multisite HACK for 2.2.3 Final

Hi, thanks for your quick reply, can I clarify a couple of points:

1) I have installed XOOPS 2.2.3, and the multi site hack is the one for 2.2.3

2) I want site2 to use site1's user tables, so site2 can login using site1's details. Do I need to have the multi site hack installed on site1 or site2, it is currently installed on site2 only.

Regards

Chris
