REQ - Update WF-Quotes?

Here on the XOOPS site, there's only a small number of quote modules to choose from. The only one which is full-featured is WF-Quotes, and that's a 2+ year old beta, with a lot of old code still pointing back to the original module it was based on (WF-FAQS).

Has any module developer updated WF-Quote? Or would anyone consider it? As half-finished as it is, it's really quite good, but isn't up to the current standard.

Or is anyone considering making a quote module that has all the features of WF-Quote?

Thanks m0nty, I really appreciate the quick response :)

I'll follow up on the links you left me. I know that the gd library is already there, but maybe it will need to be updated.

Another odd thing is that I also have myAlbum-P instead, and it finds both ImageMagick and netPBM with no problems. So I copied the path statement from that, and plugged it into the CBB preferences (where there is an option for a path setting). This didn't work either. Even using the exact same auto-detected paths that myAlbum-P uses, CBB still doesn't see it.

An idea; perhaps XOOPS itself could have the ability to manually set the path for ImageMagick, netPBM, and the gd libraries, and then offer it as a variable to future modules, so that something system-wide like this doesn't have to depend on the individual module developers to each implement in different ways. Just an idea.

Thanks again, I'll continue searching for the answer with your suggestion.

I have the same problem.

I installed myalbum-p and it detects ImageMagick and netPBM just fine when you put in the right path.

The problem seems to be CBB 3.05 (and judging by the earlier messages I searched through), which can't detect it through the environmental variable in FreeBSD or Windows, and has no way to set the path correctly.

Not sure how this will affect functionality, if it does at all, but it'd be nice if we could set the path.

Smiley Manager Enhancement

I know this is a very low priority request, but I think it would be a very nice addition.

An addition to the 'smiley manager', the addition of a two date fields, to indicate "From" and "To" when a particular smiley would be available.

This would let one install multiple smiley sets that could be set to automatically be available during applicable holidays.

Also an option for the smiley to be 'stickey' or not. A 'stickey' smiley would never change once it is used, a non-stickey smiley would change when the smiley set changed.

For example; Let's say two smiley sets are installed, one for Christmas and one for the rest of the year. With the date fields, the Christmas smileys automatically become available, replacing the regular smileys, during the span of days chosen (say, Dec 15-Dec 25). During the Christmas period, only the Christmas smileys are seen.

If the regular smileys are 'stickey', then previously posted messages do not change, even during the Christmas period. If the regular smileys are not stickey, then even the previously posted messages change their smileys during the Christmas period, and change back when that period is over.

To make the whole thing manageable, allowing 'categories' for smiley sets would be help.

And finally, either do the same thing for the message icons, or let the message icons use the same smile manager/sets.

Just icing on the cake, I know, but it came to mind.

Updated favicon.ico

I didn't see this in the new logo-pack, and the support site seems to still have the old .ico running. I made this using the new XOOPS logo, I hope I'm not being too forward.

Center-alignment of images

I did some searches, couldn't find any mention of this. I'm using XOOPS 2.2.4, and this occurs in the DHTML standard editor.

When an image from the Image Manager is selected, with Center alignment, the image does not center. The actual code that goes into the page doesn't even mention alignment. When I add "align=center", it makes no difference.

Here's a left-aligned pic, it works if there's actually a pic present :) ;

(alternative display, using { instead of [ )
{img align=left}https://xoops.org/uploads/img3e7a935fb514e.gif{/img}

Here's a center-aligned selected pic, that will insert a pic that's supposed to be centered. It doesn't put an align statement in, and if you add it manually, it still will not work properly;

The same thing does happen here on the XOOPS.ORG site.

Huh. The <> Code icon function doesn't seem to be working correctly either.

Hi jd,

Yes, I tried that, thinking the update needed something from the Frameworks folder. It didn't work.

Do I need to reinstall those files from an original 2.24 installation zip?

I tried to install the latest version of Article, 0.80, into XOOPS 2.24 and 'bad things' immedately started happening.

The installation said it was successful, but first the installation did not install any 'Preferences' for Articles, nor any module administration. I tried an 'update' in the Modules Administration page, and this did not complete. So then I tried to uninstall, and it went to the 'uninstall' page, but the 'submit' button did not appear at the bottom of the page, so I could not tell it to complete the action.

I tried to access the site and nothing came up.

I FTP'ed into the site, and removed the Article module directory. Then I went into PHPMyAdmin and removed all of the Article tables.

The site still will not come up, the only access that seems to work is through admin.php, and I can't change anything. The General Preferences screen will not come up so I can't turn the debugging on.

Any ideas to recover from this?

In advance, thanks.
