Re: Admin Lockout

I have read just about everthing on all the blogs and nothing is working and noone not even the core developers have the answer to solve this problem. My gut feeling is that its to do with the "Admin.php" file as this is the one that gives access when you click on the Admin Menu.

You talk about a repair to XOOPS session table, I belive I should try this.

How do I do this?
Kind Regards

Admin Lockout

After uploading a range of code moduls and NONE of them working I'm still having the BIG problem that no one has solved the problem to.

Every time I login and then click on the "Admin Menu" it tell me that (as the admin manager) I do not have the permission to login and throws me out to the home page.

Dose ANYONE have the answer to this BIG problem?
Kind Regards
David

Re: Admin Privileges

I have now uploaded a range of core mods some old some new and I'm still having the same problem.

I have followed this blog through and nothing has worked. Can one of you core developers PLEASE correct this problem. Many people have surggested many things that I'm sure a lot have us have tried thats having this problem.

My site had now been down for over 1 week all because I wanted to upgrad...now I have nothing.

I upload the software, login as the administrator click on the "admin menu" and it throughs me out.

THIS IS NOT a problem with the ISP, the Host or a firewall, it the code, prob just one line somewhere thats giving us all the problems.

The file thats called on when you click on the "Admin Menu" tabb is "Admin.php" Can a core XOOPS developer look at the code in this file with a focus. Or can a patch be wrighten ASAP.

REPAIR TABLE xoops_session

It is in Monty's post above

If you read this whole thread as i did, you would notice its not possible to make a certain decision, people here have given lots of instructions that don't work, and so its not easy to notice whats true and not.

However, amidst desperation, i chose to follow the rout of (REPAIR TABLE xoops_session) and my site improved drastically although its still not performing as supposed to. The remaining problem now is that majority of my members once they are logged in cannot access a certain module on the first click, but its always working from the second trial onwards. eg i log into the site and go to forum, i will be told that i don't have access to the forum and i am automatically logged out, then, i log in again immediately and go to forum, this time i get access without a hitch.

I uploaded my XOOPS manually.

What else is there for me to do and rectify this problem now that i have already repaired my TABLE xoops_session? Its been couple of days now and most of my members have realized the trick of second or third attempt and are already getting used to it as it is.[/quote]

Check the default permissions on your server files and folders. Folders (except for cache, templates_c and uploads) should be chmod 755, files should be chmod 644.

Re: Admin NOT working

This DOSE NOT work. I have spoken to my ISP and they tell me that its to do with the files that are NOT giving me authorization to access that area.

Re: Admin NOT working

I have tried this and read all the notes and nothing works. I have also tried loading new "Admin.php" files as this is the file that it's all pointing towards.

Should I try and download a new vision from a new mirror?

What would you surggest?
Kind Regards
David
