My simple view is this:

XOOPS DEV seems to be moving very slow at this point, it's the reason I asked is XOOPS dead only getting a response of "We've got some great things coming" but yet when you look at the XOOPS CVS tree, you see nothing has changed in 4 weeks.

http://cvs.sourceforge.net/viewcvs.py/xoops/xoops2/

But yet you look at the CVS tree for Joomla you get active development.

http://developer.joomla.org/integration/viewcvs/viewcvs.cgi/trunk/?root=joomla&system=exsy1002

Unless there is a difference XOOPS CVS tree somewhere then someone needs to update the XOOPS front page, which is stale as it is.

Well,

A few more details would be nice, even if you don't know them all, seems like there is a disconnect in what's going on behind the scenes to the user.

XOOPS isn't dying November usually is a very busy time for people, so we're taking it a small step slower then usual. But we'll have some announcements to make soon about development, but also about other things related to the xoops.org project. Good news I can't say much more as I don't even know what all the news will be.

But at least I can say XOOPS isn't dying

Hope that helps a bit...

First off,

This is not a shot at developers or anyone involved with XOOPS, I'm just hoping that it's not dying a slow death and want to find out.

Just from recent browsing of the forums and looking through the CVS log it looks as is almost no work is being done on XOOPS core at this time. After the big announcement I was hoping that things would pick up and people would post things going on, what's being worked on, maybe a blog or two..

No such luck...

Am I the only one feeling like this, things are released with wrong module versions, poor changelogs (no listing of files changed), things just seem a mess.

Am I wrong, or am I just missing something?

Make sure to turn off gzip compression, i had a ton of whitescreen issues as well till I did this.

To confuse the issues if you turn on php debugging it will I think disable gzip compression and everything works fine till you turn back off gzip compression.

Ugh,

I'm sorry but the mouseover effect on the admin panel drives me nuts, it looks like the adminmenu is called from ./cache/adminmenu.php, is there a way to disable it? Also in the future would it be possible to have an easier way to disable/enable that?
