Can anyone help me out with this one:
In PHPdebug mode I'm getting this error message
Quote:
Notice [PHP]: A session had already been started - ignoring session_start() in file include/common.php line 177

Most of the site seems to be working fine but I'm having trouble with register.php - On completion of the registration form visitors are redirected to /register.php (blank page) and registration details are not submitted.
I don't know if they're related problems. I've already uploaded fresh copies of register.php and common.php and it's made no difference.
I'm running version 2.0.13.2 Any help is much appreciated guys...

Have you tried to use an FTP program such as Dreamweaver to delete and upload a fresh copy of mainfile.php?

Hey wtravel, I just downloaded your directory module and left a comment on it on your site.
Looks like you're onto a dymamite module

Nice one lads - I'm off to have a look at both of them now. Just noticed though that xDirectory DOES have the capacity to comment on listings so I think I'll keep it with my options.
Thanks for the quick responses!

Thanks gestroud for replying.
I was looking at modules like mylinks which is very limited and xDirectory which has some good features. You can list a company and details such as addresses, phone no's etc... The listings can be categorised too. You can also rate the listings but you cannot comment on them which is a shame.
I also considered making use of one of the forum modules but they don't quite fit the bill as they are not quite specialised enough and a bit too generic if you follow me?
I want members to be able to quickly enter the details of a cafe or restaurant and their impression of it (rating & comments). Other users should be able to add their comments and rating too. All listings and comments should be searchable.
I also feel that the personal messaging aspect would work well as users will be able to contact each other to discuss a particular premises. This is not a problem though and is well catered for by xoops.

I want to build a new site that will allow members / users to rate and review restraunts. I can't seem to find a module that quite suits my needs so I'm wondering if anyone can maybe suggest one or point out one that might be worth hacking.
I'l like it to be searchable by location, name, category, keyword. The standard XOOPS search should be good enough for that.
Any ideas?

Users can't register - only blank page after submit

I'm not sure how long this has been going on for - a couple of weeks I guess but it's come to my attention that visitors to my site can't register for a member account.
I'm running XOOPS 2.0.13.2 (recently downgraded from 2.2) and when a user fills out the register form and clicks on submit they're just being redirected to a blank page url: www.mysite.com/register.php
New user registration is turned on and I've uploaded a fresh copy of register.php just in case the original one was corrupted.
I've turned on phpdebug and get the following error message:Quote:

Notice [PHP]: A session had already been started - ignoring session_start() in file include/common.php line 177

I've uploaded a fresh copy of common.php too but I'm still having the same problem.
Can anyone shed any light on this for me or point me in any direction of what to look out for please???

try phplist - www.phplist.com It's not a XOOPS module but I've got 13,000 subscribers and it's the best reliable option for me

Yeah I had a total nightmare trying to downgrade. My backup was corrupted somehow so I was really in a fix as I couldn't restore the original.
In the end the only solution I could find was to clean install version 2.0.13.2 in a new directory with it's own database. I carried as many files from the new installation across to the original 'attempted downgrade', e.g. templates_c, Modules such as system, profiles etc.
Then I compared the structure of the core tables such as xoops_users, xoops_config etc. I had to make many changes to several tables in the failed downgraded database. Also there were a lot of missing records in some of these tables that were vital to functioning of XOOPS so I copied them over from the new installation too.
This was very tedious and took a couple of days to get right but my site works again now and none of my data has been lost thank God.
