how to config the "mail setup"? I wanna XOOPS send mail to users, Should I setup a mail system in the server?

I used 'php mail()', but it seems doesn't work, I have not recieve any mail.
if I chose 'sendmail', what should I do?
and use 'smtp auth', what should I do?

help me. thanks

If I use the SMTP AUTH method as mentioned above, does the smtp server have to live on the same server/box as the site? Or can I use a url to another server that I have SMTP privileges on?

Triangle Bird Club (http://trianglebirdclub.org) is taking bids for a new theme for our website.

We are an Avian/Bird Lovers group that support bird breeders, owners of pet birds, and bird enthusiasts in general. We're a non-profit organization in Beaumont, Texas, USA.

During Hurricanes Katrina, Rita and Ike that affected the American Gulf Coast our members were active in animal rescue and shelter and the Triangle Bird Club website provided a vital communications link among many members during a period when family's were displaced and cell and land line phone service was practically non existent.

Our goals are to modernize the appearance of the website in general.

Our members tend to post lots of attachments to forum picture showing off their birds.

We will install the latest stable version of Xoops if it's not already been done. We expect that any theme designed will be easily upgraded along with the development of future releases of Xoops.

Please respond with a conservative estimate for a new theme, descriptions of artistic characteristics you suggest and an Idea what you would charge to make small future modifications in the future for maintenance.

Please email your estimate to admin@trianglebirdclub.org.

Any theme design questions or suggestions would be much appreciated as a reply in this thread.

Best Regards,
Todd Fogal

Thanks for the reply.

Did you have to install frameworks separately. Or in fact, did you have to install anything in addition to the core XOOPS 2.4.4 distribution and CBB 3.08 module?

Use a host that allows you to have control over your own databases.

www.UltranetDomains.com comes to mind.

On a brand new install of XOOPS 2.4.4 I have users that are able to create an account, and log in, but then if the navigate anywere they get this message:

This page cannot be displayed due to an internal error.

You can provide the following information to the administrators of this site to help them solve the problem:

Error: Class XoopsProfileHandler does not exist
Handler Name
profile

At first I thought this was a cookie problem. And indeed deleting the cookies for one user did seem to help, but now it's happening on other users.

When I do a fresh install of XOOPS 2.4.4 and add CBB 3.08 I get only the dhtml editor and plain text editor.

If I do an upgrade of a XOOPS 2.3.3 site to 2.4.4 with CBB already installed, I get a list of several editors but only the first one, dhtml editor, works. The advanced editors open to a white text buffer window only with no icons listed across the top of the editor window.

Seems there's some posts about an issue with News module that may have been resolved. Is anyone aware of or working on a solution for CBB?

Greetings,

I'm starting a new XOOPS site and need only two modules at the moment. One for forums, one for photo gallery.

What would you suggest.

Thanks,
