DB error

I didn't touch my site in ages, and all the sudden I couldn't post in the forum (newbb) - got an error.

I turned the site off and turned on MySQL debug. This is the problematic line:

SELECT forum_type, forum_name, forum_access, allow_html, allow_sig, posts_per_page, hot_threshold, topics_per_page FROM xoops_bb_forums WHERE forum_id = 3
Error number: 1054
Error message: Unknown column 'forum_access' in 'field list'

Obviously, something happened to the db. What happened? How db structure can change? And, how to fix it?

Hello,

I just moved one of my sites to another host (from godaddy to dreamhost), copied all the files, changed everything I needed in mainfile.php and when I try to access my site, I get this message:

XOOPS path check: Script is not inside XOOPS_ROOT_PATH and cannot run.

I made sure there is no trailing backslash after XOOPS_ROOT_PATH and I am sure I am using the correct XOOPS_ROOT_PATH.

How can I solve this problem?

I have some experience with XOOPS, but now I am about to start a news/articles/opinions site, which is a bit different from what I did now.

I'll need a clean and fast news-site design, with clear categories, etc. I am pretty sure XOOPS is the system to run this site, but I want to see a ready, XOOPS based news/articles/opinions site, so I will be sure this is the way to go.

Any examples? Known sites?

Thank you.

I own a scientific website, in which I post articles on various issues. I use wfsections to manage the aricles, but it lacks one functionality I really need, and that is the ability to sort the articles by several categories.

The idea is quite simple - to make an article belong to several categories. For example, I would like to make an article belong to "nuclear medicine" and "advanced" categories, so when someone wants to see advanced articles, he will see it, and the same if he wants to see all the articles about nuclear medicine.

Unfortunately, I was unable to find a module that does it. I don't need some fancy module with a lot of features. A simple module that will sort the articles by categories and display them nicely will do.

Any recommendations? Is there such a module available out there? Alternative solutions, maybe?

Thank you very much!

Yeah that was the problem. Pretty stupid of me - I didn't notice it was newbb1 fix and not newbb2.

Thank you!

I've upgraded the Dune site (in my signature) from 2.0.7.3, and now the forums stopped working. I see only an empty page, and when I try to go to a forum manually (via a link), I get this error:

ERROR: Could not connect to the forums database.

I checked the database, it seems like forum tables are still there. I can access the categories via the admin interface.

Any idea how I can fix it?
