Re: Problem with Forum module

Not sure about the digest, but for the permissions you have to set Anonymous Users access in 'groups' as well as in the forum permissions, have you checked that the Anonymous Users group has access to the forum?

Re: Showing right blocks that only show for certain modules

I've never been able to get php blocks to work, but I'll give this post a bump for you.

Re: is this forum useless?

Please also see this post showing the best way to post and a template to use. Looking at your last post about the events calendar, the context of your problem was not too clear, so it was difficult for anyone to give any advise.

Re: [Q] What forum is XOOPS.org running?

It uses NewBB2 but CBB is the successor of this module, so you should stick with CBB. CBB has the option of 'Hover' which is what Newbb uses.

Re: Menu

You are best looking at using multi menu to create your own menu's.

I create a new group, lets call it abusers.

Give the new group abusers limited access rights. They can log in but with restricted access.

When I want to limit someone who is abusing the whole site I just put them in the abusers group. Problem almost solved.

If you are using 2.0.13 or < they can still abuse the PM system.

Now if we only had permissions for PM the problem would be solved.

Yes but then the moderators need 'groups' access, and can effectivly have access to everything on the site (by changing their own group to webmaster) which is why I think he's asking that he would like the moderators to be able to click a button or something to put the user in the 'abusers' group.

Re: RRP in CBB on XOOPS 2.2.4

I think u would need to split it into 2 tables, perhaps like this:
...........
    <
th class="head" align="center" nowrap="nowrap"><{$smarty.const._MB_NEWBB_LPOST}></th>
  </
tr>
</
table>
<
marquee direction="up" scrollamount="1" style="text-align:center;background-color:black;color:white;">
<
table>
  <{foreach
item=topic from=$block.topics}>
...............

not sure how your fading thing would work afterwards though.

Re: Email address validation

yea, I think it might just be my host, quote:
If your e-mail client has trouble using a @ sign in the login, you can use +, :, or % sign instead.

Re: Email address validation

hmmm, that could really cause a problem. POP3 will also identify a + as an @ so u could end up with an address of cas@gc@example.com with certain applications.

Re: Forum..Flat versus Threaed

Each user can set it in their account, and the default can be set in the forum perferances, asuming you are using NewBB2 or CBB. I don't think NewBB1 had this option.
