xcgal / multimenu sudden death!!!

Hiya,

I had xcgal installed and running fine, using multimenu 1.72 to navigate the categories.

I deactivated several modules I didn't need, wasn't using. Didn't touch xcgal or multimenu, but the links in multimenu disappeared and main xcgal page missing info, no pics are visible. BUT...pics DO show in scrolling thumbs????

Ran debugs and get this;
Warning: Smarty error: unable to read template resource: "db:multimenu_list.html" in .../class/smarty/Smarty.class.php on line 1042

AND

Warning: Smarty error: unable to read template resource: "db:xcgal_index.html" in .../class/smarty/Smarty.class.php on line 1042

What could have caused this? And how can I fix it without having to start over

Xoops 2.0.5.2
PHP Version 4.3.9
Mysql 3.23.49 (I think)
No debug...

Yeah, I know I need to update XOOPS version, I may also have figured it out, changed some settings in mail setup seems to be working intermittently. I'm wondering if changing delivery method to sendmail instead of PHP mail() would help.

Hi all,

Having a slight glitch with the mailer; I set it to email me new registration notices and it's not doing that, not with either choice a) to activate users or b) auto activate and notify me. Other notifications work fine tho'

Any workarounds? Or is there something I missed?

No change, even went so far as to shut off zone alarm to see if it was interfering, no difference. Even added the https:// to the allowed domains, nope....

Must be a way to accomplish this one way or another,

The redirect works great now, only prob is it also denies from domains on the list...

Hi ackbarr,

Thanks for the assist, I made the change and got this

Parse error: parse error, unexpected '{' in /public_html/xoops/register.php on line 49

This is line 49 with the added code; Quote:
if (! in_array($ref_info['host'], $allowed_domains) {



Is it just a matter of deleting that { on the end?
Any ideas?

How to limit reg page access using http referer?

Hi,

I'd like to know if I can limit access to the registration page unless it is accessed from certain referers, ie paypal or 2co etc.

I went thru the reg.php page, but didn't see anything obvious, not a coder , but have learned enough to figure some stuff out. Any pointers or help would be much appreciated.

Hi Jonathan,

Did you disallow spidering the gallery? I read there were issues with some calendars, pical? I think, perhaps images eat up bandwith too, just a thought.

Also saw this when I stopped by and clicked your stats image;
Warning: ob_start(): output handler 'ob_gzhandler' conflicts with 'zlib output compression' in /home/jonathan/public_html/xoops/stats/admin.php on line 71

If you're using xfsections for articles, it does that automatically, see it athttp://www.2pdf.com, I used a rudimentary fix in theme.html for the news section, but the technique described at xoops-tips by tl works for pretty much any mod as far as I can tell.

That's where I got some of the other tips with page title too, article #93 or 92 I think. Now to connect the dots....

And a tip of my own, weblog uses ping o matic in it's common ping servers, replace it with this;http://pingoat.com/goat/RPC2 - it pings over 60 servers and does it really fast. This file to edit is commonping_servers.inc.php
