The problem is the scammers are using a valid e-mail address as they want a reply.

Its a variation of the Nigerian 419 (or is 491) scam.

I've disabled the e-mail button now so I hope they will go away.

Yes I did that and updated the module and it didn't work.

I've just done it again and it did!

Thanks

No no no - that is not the problem. The system is not compromised. The scammers are simple going to my site and using the forms on XDirectory to send bogus e-mails. So I do just need to remove the e-mail button from the forms.

I've tried changing the templates but the e-mail button still shows up.

Help - I use XDirectory on a lot of my sites. Recently I've had a lot of complaints about scammers sending bogus e-mails using the xDirectory e-mail forms that go with the listings.

Can I disable the e-mail function for all the listings? How would I go about this.

Thanks - How would I do that?

Getting rid of the intial comments in the .SQL file (or changing them back to the older comment character) prior to importing might be worth a try.

Help- I'm in the process of moving my sites to a new host. I'm trying to export my old database and import it on the new server. I've done this before and restored XOOPS sites from back up etc.

However when I try and import the database I get this message

Quote:
SQL-query:

KEY `avatar_type` ( `avatar_type` , `avatar_display` )
) TYPE = MYISAM AUTO_INCREMENT =1

MySQL said:
#1064 - You have an error in your SQL syntax.  Check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'avatar_id` mediumint(8) unsigned NOT NULL auto_increment,
  `av

Any ideas - am I exporting incorrectly or importing incorrectly???

I've tried installing netpbm in a different location and changing the path. It still doesn't work and I've just had this message from my service provider.

Quote:
"It has become necessary for us to enable Safe Mode for PHP on your server. Safe Mode adds many security features to PHP that we unfortunately can no longer operate without. It was necessary for us to enable safe mode as a matter of urgency to prevent any potential further disruption to service for our clients.

Having looked into this it appears that you are running the xoopsgallery module and unfortunately this has not been coded to work in environments where safe mode is enabled. Therefore unless there are modifications for xoopsgallery to enable it to work in a safe mode environment, and for example to make use of PHP's built in GD image manipulation functions, it will not be possible to run your current gallery software on our servers."

We do of course understand that this causes problems for your script and we apologise for any inconvenience that this will cause, however unfortunately we are not going to be able to change the current setup to allow this functionality again. The changes that we have made are for
the increased security of your server and are vital for us to be able to continue to provide a secure and reliable environment for all of our clients."
