Reason I'm asking about this is the line number references seem to be different to what's stated above for 2.0.4, and I don't know what I should be looking for as I'm a PHP noob.

I'm using 2.0.4 and would also appreciate a bit more detail on how to do this. I'm having a few performance issues, and I don't want to have to leave the debug mode on to get load time information.

Calling the XOOPS banner code elsewhere isn't the problem, being able to call a banner with the correct formating is. For example, a banner which is 450 pixels wide by 70 pixels high will be well suited to being displayed in a horizontal banner section as per the standard XOOPS banners. However, that same banner in the left or right columns in a vetical banner section won't be well suited as it'll be too wide. This is one of the advantages of phpadsnew as you can control what banner is shown where.

Hmmm...

So does this mean without going to something like phpadsnew (which is a lot of overkill for what I'm after), there is not a lot I can do with the standard XOOPS banner system to distinguish 2 serprate style shape banners?

Just wondering what everyone did for banner management? Reason I ask is that I plan to have 3 banner sections. 1 in the title bar, and 1 each in the left and right side columns. As the top banner section will be suited to horizontal banners, and the side ones will be suited to vertical banners, I was wondering if there was anyway to specify in the banners section which ones to display where?

I was planning on using IPBM inplace of NewBB as I felt the features offered by IPBM outweighed the disadvantages of having an unclear upgrade path, and the fact that it took a bit more to administer as it wasn't XOOPS core as NewBB is.

However, now that I see Catz is putting his skills into developing NewBB, I think I'll be sticking to NewBB. I doubt NewBB will ever have a feature set as rich as IPBM, but that also has it's advantages in that it's easy to administer.
